Please Reconsider Oceania Servers

that is exactly what i said. as long as you dont abuse regional pricing, as the paragraph you quoted says, there is no problem in using a vpn. steam confirmed this multiple times.
as i explained it, its not breaking ToS.
and yeah. when they release the game in a region, take money from those in that region AND advertise it in that region then they have to add proper infrastructure for them or at least add the information to the advertisement. they dont. so the least they can do is allow people to use exitlag to get a better ping to reduce their huge fuckup.
you can believe what you want but those are facts.

“or for any other purpose”. At least try to read it. Your opinions are not facts.

The game is still not out and i dont see anywhere advertising about you get OCE servers.

okay lets make this simple: show me a single person who got banned on steam, solely for using a vpn.

How do you show somebody if he is banned from steam? xD Grow up finaly. TOS is not something you are allowed to bend to your own opinion.

It says clearly no matter what is the purpose of your vpn, it is not allowed.

so you cant show me a single person who got banned from steam for using a vpn? thought as much. thats probably because steam mods already said that nobody will get banned just for using a vpn.

I dont need to show anybody to you. The rules a clear. If you dont like it that is your problem.

so you say steam mods lie about the rules? ok then.

TOS is above mods. Just like law is above politicans.

VPN services for circumventing geofencing for access and pricing is clearly against the TOS in both Steam and LA. Using a route optimisation service (eg exitlag/mudfish) is not against the Steam TOS. The differentiation between those is the issue.

HOWEVER, I don’t think latency is going to be our biggest problem with not having a Oceania designated server. The real issue here is that all the timed events will occur ~7am and ~1pm AEDT, which will result in most OCE players not being able to participate in them. Even if we don’t have a server located in OCE, we should have an OCE server which has all timings adjusted to make the game mechanics accessible.

It seems like you have no idra what you’re talking about. VPN is a legal software and doesn’t matter what country you are in. What matters is what you use it for.

Comparing it to cheating is just stupid. So please keep quiet if your info is jus bs.

yes it is.

You agree that you will not use IP proxying or other methods to disguise the place of your residence, whether to circumvent geographical restrictions on game content, to purchase at pricing not applicable to your geography, or for any other purpose. If you do this, Valve may terminate your access to your Account.

whether or not it is enforced is a separate question

“or for any other purpose.” Maybe use google for the meaning of “any”.
Also the CM says it is not allowed.
Only cus you dont like high ping you are not allowed to bend the rules to your liking.

Mate you are clueless. We are not using a VPN. To disguise our geolocation but to improve routing for lower lantency.

He told he is allowed to use VPN cus his country law isnt forbids it. Using cheats in games are also not in the AU law yet you still cant use them. If you dont understand something then just dont advertise it.

you need to read the whole paragraph. it says

or for any other purpose

I am not saying you are trying to circumvent the blocks etc

The whole paragraph gives examples and on the last spot tells no matter what is your reason for vpn you cant use it.

I love how Mods jump in to answer the VPN BAN Question but STILL refuses to answer the OCE TAGGED NA WEST SERVER question…
taps microphone Is this thing on? How about those airline dinners?

They are not refusing. The mods are giving you the answer when somebody at Amazon (above mods) decided what to do and when they are allowing for them to tell you the decision.

Funny to see how every single thing must to be explained for you. Just like for little kids. Cute.

Its not against the Steam TOS, what you are quoting is AGS… which I clearly didnt specify was allowed under the LA TOS.

Maybe you need to be a little slower to point people at google, and focus more on reading comprehension. Optimisation services are NOT against the Steam TOS. Using a VPN to avoid Geofencing is.
