Please stop helping the bots Amazon

Danube. Which was literally 100 bots per 1 player but im guessing we have less bots in general because of lower player base numbers. But for the past year ive seen maybe 1 person per hub and all the rest were bots. Up to 9 channels of bots. But now everything is 1 channel and players are everywhere. Also im guessing the more players on a server means more RMTers which means more bots in the popular servers

I literally work in this field [payment processing] with close ties to visa, mc etc, and have an economics degree and can say with 100% certainty.

Youre wrong.

Steam is NOT eating chargebacks like you claim they are. They will 100% take that money from the game responsible.

Someone adds $1000 to steam, then buys LOA RC, charges back the $1000, you better believe theyre passing along that cost to AGS.

it’s doing its job but we do get the weird cases wherein it says the one we picked is wrong even though the one we’ve selected is obviously the correct one. There’s one in reddit where someone clicked on the upside-down orca and still got disconnected

Thats what i thought also, really hope it will do well and get rid of those bots for good.

It’s just a matter of time whether bot devs would bother making a captcha solver on their end. But if SG devs constantly update the images used, it would greatly help even if bots do get a solver. I’m all for captcha as long as we finally get the changes reverted to what the game is supposed to have (gold from rapports/quests, no 3-day wait, no AH cooldown, no AH limit, etc.). We could also finally get AH api

I think that it will take a lot longer than players currently think for those changes to be reverted, as this CAPTCHA system is honestly only in its testing phase in NAW. Even when it is released region-wide, the CAPTCHA system will be in its evaluation phase, to see its effectiveness region-wide.

So reverts won’t happen unless they can reduce a sufficient amount of bots and the 3-day wait probably won’t be reverted until they can ensure that credit card fraud is unlikely.

And a CAPTCHA solver could be created on the bot devs’ end. However, if AGS uses a mixture of texts and images on their CAPTCHA, it will be a lot more work for the bot devs to develop countermeasures, unless they are investing in high-end PCs as such.

That’s just my guess though.

can we get a trusted status on our accounts to remove this 3 day restrictions. Like you are restricted until you have x number of non fraudulent transactions? Especially with how littlie communication we get about when we will get certain things so you have to pre buy crystals if you want to use them at all.

and the experience of those who dont fall for fraud scams worse.

Karta looks like this again too. I ran into 0 bots yesterday.

Can you please just eliminate the bots at the gold vendors and event Santa? That’s like the bare minimum ask.

There’s no in-game mod buddy.
You can try to report them, but they won’t be banned nayway so live with it;

hide name from others player
hide title / hide guild

so they looks like random npc

They already told us why they did this change but i really dont remember it correctly.
So correct me if im wrong-

Basically people were getting their CC/account robbed and they were buying everything they can from the cash shop - Selling it on the AH and transfer the gold to another account, then they asked for a chargeback or something like that.
So they added the 3 days to avoid people selling the items in the AH or something

I remember they made a post ill see if i can find it, if im wrong ill edit this post when i find the real reason.

Edit:
Found the post:

Just a thought: I’ve played a couple of MMO’s and all of them had common PvP/PK system. Everyone outside main towns could PK other players or PvP if they retaliate. Why is LOA different on this ? This is a traditional and core system for MMO’s and it could erradicate (or significantly reduce bots from the game). Was this even a thread on this forum ? I know this isnt an open world game like many others MMO’s but I don’t see that could be the reason for this not being doable.

We should have the same special currency you get from spending in the shop like on the KR version.

This would give an incentive for ppl to buy from the shop instead of using 3rd party sites…

As well as us getting the cool stuff they have in KR q_q

all of them 1375…i wonder why

This is actually funny :joy: they made the requirements to open Boss Rush/Cube chest to 1375 to prevent bots from using them and look what we have here… now actual players are forced to push their alts to 1375. I’m not saying it’s so hard to go from 1370 to 1375 but maybe it is for some. It’s still pretty funny that they come up with these ā€œsolutionsā€ but in reality, it’s more of inconvenience to actual players.

I just hope someday they propose a solution that would only hurt the bots not the actual players of their game.

Lol, this is very inaccurate. Fraud prevention benefits the company and the company alone, not the players. Every other game company has fraud prevention that doesn’t require a 3 day hold on in game purchases, your ā€œteamā€ is just lacking in ability(or personnel or both?) and it’s nigh time to ask another game company for help because you guys are in waaaaaaaay over your heads with the fraud and bots on top of other issues you need to address… You clearly don’t understand the massive impact all these ā€œsmall changes that restrict playersā€ are making when in effect simultaneously.

Here’s a little example story for you.

I’ve reached my AH limit and ran out of gold with an accessory I need(first one in a week) currently on the market for ~24hrs. I buy gold from the RC-Gold exchange and have to wait 3 days. I can’t get my item and can’t put anything else up for sale(due to AH limit) to make up what I’m missing so I’m going around on the maps doing what little i can to make gold(what can I even do, all gold outside UNA/Raid is removed), but wait… I try to do some quests and a bunch of bots are farming the mobs i need for my quest so I can’t clear it which leads me to change channel/area and wow, look what it is… A CAPTCHA… what great timing. I fail the ridiculously designed captcha and my game closes… Guess how I feel and what I do next.

This is a real experience from someone in my Discord btw, excluding the CAPTCHA(they got DC’d). They’re still waiting for another acc to pop up in the market to finish their 5x3…

@Roxx Please let your team know that this is more of an issue than they think it is. In a game where everything is time gated or limited, a 3 day hold is a major negative impact on players and there are other ways to prevent fraud than this…

Wishful thinking.

At every single large scale bamwave bots are grounder for a week or two, the time sellers need to recode the program to be able to start back farming.

The fact you dobt see many is simply cause it s a stage progression process, from aimply being able to log back bypassing security measures, to the ability to captcha, to the ability of movinf ingame, to the ability of farm base resources up to the more complex actions lile ah exploiting.

Most of people claims bots are down or they are in a bad shape xause the only ways to actually fact check bot control are:

  • check the usual bot activity spots
  • check the gold price in every third party seller.

In the first case, id guess that bots needing ro start back from scratch their ā€œactionsā€ wont be seeable around. Likely they ll park in strongholds for tests till they can go back farming.

In the second case, there s a specific way bots are handled ingame. First all, it s not like Ags banwaves once every 3-4 months and thats it.

They do ban bots on a daily base, the huge waves come usually when they change or update the prevention methods.

It wouldnt be a stretch thinking that thousands of bots get banned daily.
Now from a bot farm perspective, it s only given they aware any of their toons can be randomly banned. Which means that would they stockpile ll the gold on a single account, theyd lose it all.
Thats why the botted gold is pread among hundreds if not thousand bots, ao that even if 1/10th get banned, your gold pool is still strong.

Whenwver a huge ban wave hits, a masssive number of gold holders are out of the question, a few need intervention to get back active, and new onea will be made and tested.

As consequence, the third party seller gold raises in price, not due to lacl of activity, but due to gold reserve suddenly being heavily reduced.

That said, no doubts they ll be back in the hundred thousands till the next wave.
