everyone evading region restrictions with a vpn knew this was possible one day, and better now than in a year
this is a good change and it’s astonishing that it wasn’t done at launch when bots were first a problem

I disagree. This solution is not correct or right.
We have already once try to support the “trusted” system and guess what? A large portion of our real player bases already left.
To what end are we going to accept things being taken away from real players? Gold is like currency, you have to face the fact that your economy will always have bad actors involved and it is not limited to just bot.
All of this will have long term consequences where the left over player-base will have to wait longer for match making and it will drive away all players.

If it’s against ToS then yes, they should as it against the rules imo. Sure it sucks for many but they’re finally acting upon their rules. With that being said, it’s not really working, I play EUC and on a server that was added later so isn’t as populated and thought i’d check in Vern if this has worked;

Using a VPN to begin with was against AGS’s own ToS and was a topic discussed way back here:
This statement was made back on February 2. While yes, it is understandable that a lot of people may use the services of a VPN to play, specifically our OCE brothers and sisters that do not have their own OCE server to begin with, but AGS made their stance very clear on the matter a week before launch.
AGS should, if they knew they were securing publishing rights in Australia, have secured a server for those players if they’re of the stance to ban VPN usage because how else do they expect those players to enjoy the game connecting to servers 13km+ away?
It sucks that legitimate players are going to get caught in the middle of this, but bots need to get under control. As @Manami stated, hopefully AGS takes proactive measures to ban VPN usage to really start making a dent.
And hopefully, AGS can start discussing the need to try and get an OCE server up for those players down under who enjoy the game, but due to obvious reasons, had to use a VPN to play. I mean, you’ve got the Philippines, Indonesia, Thailand, Malaysia, etc all in that area. I’m sure they would prefer a server anywhere in that region.

People (F2P) below 1370 are suffering enough as it is for gold.
Anything related to lower rewards anywhere is bad for the overal community. Simple.
You’re basically suggesting having “the peasants” pay and the (current) endgame players get more.

Still not making sense. You’re suggesting there aren’t new players every single day since launch. I myself started a month or so ago.
To answer your statement: many can’t click honing because of lack of gold. And later this becomes a silver issue. 1302-1370 is a deadzone and following many posters, probably the hardest zone to cross due to lack of gold.
Mats is/was only an issue in T1-T2. Not really in T3. Not as much as gold (start T3)/silver(higher T3).

I agree with it since Western servers are always treated as ‘global’ but this should have been done way sooner, not let people put over 500+ hours into the game. But still, it was never allowed to begin with, just not enforced

U got around 7M silver just from express and guardian event.
And gold? you can still make gold from una tokens + u can sell leapstones for few days(also gold from masterpieces is enough gold to get to 1400,if u dont buy mats) and once u have gold u can use the mats from event and hone, everyone who puts in effort will progress, people who wont put in any effort will just say its not possible and complain as per usual

Its really not the banning of VPNs that’s really the problem. It’s that they are blanket banning VPNs when they are 100% aware a LOT of legitimate players depend on them. They are so incompetent at dealing with bots that they’ve resorted to this. Is it wrong for players like us that are affected by this change to expect something better from a company as big as AGS to come up with something better than “Bots sometimes use VPN, VPN bad, VPN banned”. Log on to the game and you’ll see the “bots they’ve banned” run around their natural habitat.

blocking VPNs isn’t exactly what’s happening and is a short term solution as you can’t just block vpns you can block IP segments that are know vpns and rolling VPNs are a thing that just bypass it. Like anyone who spends half and hour and figure out how to get around it

Again, Roxx stated that it was against the ToS to use VPN’s a week before launch. That is their policy. If you and others continued to use VPN’s despite them stating that use WAS a ToS violation, you cannot be surprised when they start enforcing their rules.
You and others have to continue to fight for an OCE server in your region and I really hope you all get it one day, because yes, offering the game in a region with no access to a regional server is, bluntly, an incredibly stupid decision.

It’s so unfair. Now I and many others are being punished for something we haven’t done, while those who are guilty will only find new exploits.
Only bots within countries that are allowed to play.
If they aren’t allowed to provide service to your country, you needed a VPN to connect to the game.

Yes, they have mentioned the use of VPNs before. But it’s just really disappointing that despite 100% knowing that this would harm legitimate players, they still follow through with the decision just because it’s been mentioned before. It has “Hey, you’ve done nothing wrong but we’re gonna screw you just because” energy to it.
We’re all just hoping for them to sort out the bot stuff without having to sacrifice a portion of their own player base. It is 100% incredibly stupid not to implement an OCE server when clearly they have infrastructures in place to support so.
They’ve just been making mistake after mistake lately and changes that they’ve implemented have caused more harm than good.
