I would call it disingenuous instead

A lot of people know that the forums are comprised of a small subset of people that play, including myself, and a smaller subset that don’t for reasons

However putting a poll up and saying “SEE 80% OF THE PEOPLE AGREE” when that 80% comprised of 80/100 people who took it

Yeah, tad bit of grandstanding unfortunately

It falls in the same realm of “BUT LOOK AT HOW MANY VIEWS THIS POST GOT, THAT MEANS PEOPLE ARE IN AGREEMENT” where in reality knowing how many unique, individual views would give a better picture (along with the fact that mods will keep those posts going so the same people just stay there instead of making 10 more to delete)

Lotta people forget that this is an echo chamber just like anywhere else, and just because 10 accounts agree with you doesn’t mean everyone else will

True but often barely 10k ppl will reply to a survey with a game 100k players. Same applies IRL.

Having a few thousand as a subset allows general approximation to a greater mass, it’s often how surveys are done IRL anyway.

A) How do we know the people who voted actually play the game?
B) The people who go to a poll on the topic of Westernisation are more likely to feel strongly one way or the other about the topic so how does this represent the playerbase?
C) Stop making new threads on this topic so we can focus on the important stuff, like her release date and the in-roster pheon costs

Good questions.

A) You don’t really. But it is only on the Lost ark subreddit/forums. Same can be said if you sent out a survey to registered accounts. A lot of those accounts probably don’t play anymore. Would be super hard without me being in charge of some technical requirements to do that (make sure ppl who only played game voted).
B) That’s why there is a “I don’t care” option
C) I can make whatever poll I want to. So can you, why don’t you do some the work as well then? I don’t disagree those things aren’t just as important, but I am interested in the results of this because it’s political. Make your own poll?

While that is true, bias tends to run rampant in forums like this

And bias can lead to results getting swayed in a way that favors that bias

Along with the fact that those surveys don’t take in to account that people can take them more than once

There’s a reason why Boaty McBoatface and the Mountain Dew naming contest are memes at this point

For sure, but not on the subreddit. Ppl are often less biased and more liberal.

Also need an account to vote on reddit, sure it’s not hard to make loads, but idk, I don’t have technical capacity to stop spam accounts (Nor does AGS for a live game lol)

you do understand that theres like 10-20k real players in the game. others are bots.

If there would be only 10k player at the same time you wouldnt find so many party and instant matchmaking in T3 content.
There are easily 80-100k player at the same time.

there is instant matchmaking? then why i wait minimum of 10-15min when i try to matchmake? theres easily 90% of bots.

Thats not because there is 10k player but its because support classes are trash in this game and just a few player playing them.

Thats straight lie, but it depends on the region. EUW is dead so it takes a couple minute but in EUC its kinda instant between 1370-1500 in prime time.
And most of the players do solo chaos because its much faster and easier. But cube, boss rush, guardian MM is instant or a few second in EUC.

i play NAW. and you can believe or not its up to you. like i said theres 90%+ of bots. I get matched with bots in chaos more then real people.

NAW is the american EUW? (I mean dead region?)
I play on EUC and as I said, MM is instant in most of the content and not with bots.

Can’t sign this. In prime time mostly instant invite to gardians. Chaos can take time but on the other hand no one does chaos in groups using matchmaking.
