Positive Vibes & Feedback for AGS and Smilegate teams <3

Hi Everyone!

In a recent Livestream from our lovely director Keum Kang-Seong hyung aka (Gold River) he mentioned that he’s very thankful that the global version of Lost Ark has been well received and looks forward to the future for all versions.

He did ask however to give his team some motivation and feedback using kind words which are also constructive. To fulfill his request I’d like to make this post and say;

Now to the constructive/positive feedback below. I’d like to make sure everyone understands that the director wants to reduce as much stress as possible and keep the game fun so I’ve just compiled a few points here.

[BUG FIX REQUIRED URGENT]

  • players from galtur currently have quests that show in stronghold as (completed) but the quests is still active in their quest finder. Because of this, they cannot progress through their stronghold levels and are stuck. We need visibility on this asap! It seems that communication with support has been open for around a month with no solid fix. Please see example here

1) To reduce the stress factor of honing the players are currently asking for the following:

  • potential increase in successful honing %
  • more sources of materials (Heroic Guardians, Bridge and other contents already present in other regions)
    By doing this it allows players from all levels of skill to attempt more honing and get closer to higher level content without feeling the need to pour in their salary.
  • is it possible to improve or make the pity system slightly more generous eg:
    at 50% success rate after first 2 fails pity system need to kick in at 3rd try
    at 25% success rate after first 4 fails pity system need to kick in at 5th try
    at 10% success rate after first 10 fails pity system need to kick in at 11th try

2) Currently there is a lack of variety in the cash shop for Avatars and one of the biggest draws to Lost Ark was it’s wonderful wardrobe.

  • players would like to see cosmetics accelerated into NA/EU asap to cater for all styles. It may be favorable to release 2 skin lines bi-weekly to allow a healthy cosmetic choice. Once there is enough variety to satiate the current playerbase, return to the same cadence as Korea which would be 1-2 cosmetic lines monthly.
  • costume design contests! Much like Korea, players would love to have their own event where they can design a costume and the community vote on it. The winners cosetumes can then be added into the game just like the anniversary skins for KLOA.
  • Players would also like to have the cosmetics stay true to the originals, no alteration is a heavily requested desire.
  • in addition to the original skins, can we obtain further skin lines which are more modest but not a replacement of the current avatars. This would increase the choice for players.
  • More pets! Dog lovers are waiting for the Shiba Inu!
  • an Otter pet would be super cute. :otter:
  • red panda pet too :3
  • the newest hairstyles!!
  • Please return the missing presets we had from KLOA! There are quite a few eye and face options missing from NA/EU and would surely be welcome additions once more.

3) dungeon tickets for disconnections and or sudden maints.

  • In the event of an emergency maint or in periods of frequent disconnections, we would like to see compensation provided in the form of a once off ticket, in order to rejoin dungeons for that day / week. (this will be the best method without being able to be abused).

4) concerns around bots

  • we know that this is already being addressed. Would a captcha option be possible to implement when entering certain dungeons? Or would this impact player experience?

  • would it be possible to have a verification system similar to twitter verification with a little tick approving your steam account to play the game? Or some way to stop accounts being made in huge amounts on a steam level?

5) concerns about support.

  • People would simply like to be able to reach out to support and obtain real, unscripted assistance in items like false bans etc. Maybe designate a small team to handle Lost Ark related support only for a time? Or permanently depending on demand?
  • players are concerned about false bans and that they’re not being addressed with transparency, is there a way we could reassure players that if they’re falsely banned that this will be of top priority as it does cause a lot of fear and uncertainty, people are currently afraid to use area chat and marketboard. If this could be looked at much sooner than would be awesome! We want to make sure only those who deserve bans are dealt them, collateral damage must be minimized and eliminated entirely.

6) QOL improvements.

  • one of the highly requested items is the front and back indicators
  • the in-game daily tracker would also be an amazing addition as players are currently using Google documents to record their progress.
  • improvements to UI (item loot window shifted more to the right so we can see what we are picking up and or attacking)
  • we would like to request that any (bound) materials can be moved within the roster. We have materials on mains which serve no purpose and could be better used on our alt characters. This should apply to shards as well! This would be a welcome QOL change by many.
  • Allow us to bind a hotkey to switch between 16:9 and 21:9! This would be amazing.

7) New Class Releases.

  • players report that they are very excited for new classes, one of their main concerns is how far down the road those classes will release. The reason for this is they they would like to “main” a particular class. As such, the big request here is to release as best practicable the classes at a hightened cadence. Would it be possible to release 2 per month? We understand the need for healthy cadence so definitely open to discuss.
  • another option would be to allow a “poll” for players to choose which class they would like to see released next or what order these classes would be best to release?

8) communication;

  • All Lost Ark official news to be posted directly on the official website and all social media accounts such as Twitter and forum posts to reference the official website announcements. This consolidation will simplify all official information flow without needing the player to check multiple sources just to get an update.
  • All Gold River streams and commentary should be officially translated into English, French, German, and Spanish so that it’s more accessible to everyone else and doesn’t rely on the community for translation while avoiding mistranslation.
  • On top of Gold River’s stream AGS should consider hosting and/or publishing their own internal localization changes and modifications to the game compared to other regions and their roadmap on a regular basis.
  • Where practicable please address urgent an hot topics with haste, we want to ensure that the topics and concernes which may drive players away are quelled before miscommunication, fear, doubt and uncertainty take hold. Playerbase retention is extremely important.
  • players would like to feel the same love and care that KLOA players receive from the director and devs teams. We want to mirror the great service provided by smilegates HQ.
  • players would like to know and be assured that they are being heard and that actions are being taken to address the concerns.
  • Continue open communication and transparency with the playerbase!

With all the responses below can I please request something from you? Let’s make this community as healthy and welcoming as possible. So when you respond use the following format;

  1. provide your concern
  2. provide a way you think might help fix it, both pros and cons to your recommendation.
  3. Leave a POSITIVE and MOTIVATING message for Director, Smilegate Dev team and AGS teams. Things work out a lot better when everyone’s a lot nicer :slight_smile:

Just wanted to say thank you for making this post and providing positive vibes to the forum.

This is the proper way to provide real constructive feedback without using aggressive means to express yourself.

I am sure they are out there listening and compiling as much suggestions as they can and discussing what the plans forward will look like. This is ultimately also why we havent been given a real roadmap considering the launch has been very shakey for certain players being unable to play the game at all.

Lets all be respectful, patient, and appreciative to the teams working hard to provide the players a better gaming experience.

I’ve added your concern to the list. I would totally love all the classes in one go as well, but I think we will need to meet at a healthy medium on this.

I think you pretty much covered alot of it.
Alot of the solutions are actually very minor if you look at it, but solve big issues within the current state of the game.

If I had to make suggestions, I would say update UI customization to be similar as KR. Especially the ability to customize party frames, etc. The current one right now is just so limiting of information. Also allow us to move the loot window popup so I can actually see what Im doing while Im playing if something drops.

You’re extremely welcome. I will continue to read and communicate the player feedback here for the foreseeable future.

I want this to be a central and healthy thread for open communication between everyone.

  • I dont have a working stronghold due to Galatur going offline a month ago. (i completed one of the first quests, but when i logged back on, i still have the quest and cannot progress)
  • a month and hundreds of messages/emails with AGS hasn’t solved it, so i dont think it’s as easy as just rolling back my quest (but not sure).
    *** I still do not know whether it is technically possible to fix my quest. I’ve asked 5 or 6 times and was once told it would be fixed, but since then i’m just told “we dont know we have to ask technical team” (I’ve been told this 3-4 times) I asked what the tech team’s response was (again) 4 days ago, but nobody replied to my email (previously i would at least get a generic reply).
  • a clear answer would be FANTASTIC, but with that said, it doesnt seem like an issue one of the people you mentioned above can work on.
    -If that’s the case, i think everything else is pretty great so far. I still enjoy the game and am having a lot of fun in T3! Hopefully someone will get it figured out so i can continue. It’s getting tough now with no stronghold/knowledge Xfer/everything i’m already over a month behind on, so i dont think i’ll be able to continue much longer, sadly.

That said, i’m still really enjoying the game, so i really hope the ticket system will come through one day soon!

This one does indeed sound tricky.

Can I ask you a favor? Is there a way you could maybe document the exact issue via way of YouTube video?

I’d be happy to take a look and see if there are any workarounds that people have not yet explored.

Well put more content for t3 players i want to play my main character more than i play alts , the honing system is fine cruel but i know it also can be too easy problem is we need more materials to throw in there and fail xD .

Also thanks for the Saint patience of the mods Fox and Roxx dealing with children of 30 years old including me.

I love the game so much it has everything i love except open world pvp loot , well nothing is perfect but with these changes ima throw some cash in , many of players love to pay for cosmetics not for progressing.

I hope you guys speed things or comunicate more about changes for the best of the game .

Thanks for sending this one in. I am going to see if I have anyone else who has had similar issues, but this video is extremely helpful in communicating the exact issue.

In the meantime oo you still have any open tickets with support that you might be able to provide them this video to?

@Shadow_Fox what is your recommendation in getting this one solved for our friend here? :slight_smile:

I do still have an open ticket. I believe they know the issue as i’ve provided screenshots a few times to their satisfaction, but i will certainly send this as well and again thanks so much for trying to help no matter how it turns out.
