Oh I have been ![]()
Unfortunately there are varying answers from different staff and from Amazon support about it in general that I feel like something needs to be said and address it.
Genuinely, there was only one post recently that really rubbed me the wrong way towards this situation and it was on this thread.
https://forums.playlostark.com/t/people-getting-banned-for-buying-refunded-items-from-other-players-in-market/
The post is asking if it’s safe to use the market, and they were asking for a staff response on it which is what I requested here because of this specifically but it’s the fact that a staff member did respond but responded as if they were requesting an appeal which makes me feel like they didn’t actually read.
And that’s the entire problem with this situation – no one is reading their appeals to determine they are false bans. I personally haven’t been affected as I refuse to use the board to buy skins and risk my account like that, however the treatment towards the people who have been affected really irks me and I will not be happy until this is resolved.
I completely understand that they have said they are working on it, and working with Amazon support to better handle these – but that’s all they say. What are they doing to fix it? How are they going to handle these from now on?
People are still getting commerce lock bans.
This one just 13h ago and they haven’t gotten a response in eleven days. Someone responded and said they’ve been waiting fourteen. That is crazy.
There is a game-breaking bug with the rapport quest - Time to Heal, but they just ignore the issue despite many players having the issue. It’s been a month and there are no updates on whether it’s being addressed or not, what is this?
Well that is starting off bad already. It hasn’t been a global release, it’s been a new region(s) release. EU and NA. And it hasn’t even be fully released, it’s but cut up and pieced out completely different from how it was originally released.
Additionally, we are getting a fire hose worth of content, with a trickle of materials necessary to actually engage with that content without spending obscene amounts of money.
The one positive I see are the community managers. They are doing their best to answer questions with the vague or minimal information they get from the development team.
I can’t praise AGS because of New World, the game made a lot of promises and followed through with mostly none of them. And what we have gotten from them for Lost Ark has not been good. It’s resulted in a game that is hyper monetized from it’s original version in KR/RU. Praise comes to those who do good things, which just has been seen yet.
The only other area of concern for me personally. The missing classes. They all need to be released. Not one that is voted for, not over a period of time. All of them at the same time, sooner rather than later. Give NA/EU the full release version of the game, not some piece meal parted out slow trickle to inflate profits.
First, some positive feedback. AGS and SG have nothing but my love and support. My only current concern is increased controller support. Most parties involved have done a tremendous job at localizing and supporting content, as well as communicating directly with players. They have my utmost respect for how they’ve handled things in the face of intense criticism, and often outright hatred.
Moving on.
As a gamer with disabilities, controller support in games is a big deal for me. There is no way for me to perform intense, mechanic-heavy combat without one. M&K simply cannot replicate the ease and comfort of ARPG combat that I can get with a controller, requiring at least one hand to be too spread out (or too cramped) to be able to perform combat dodges, while also successfully juggling the many skills I need to be able to play successfully.
Some things that could be fine-tuned to improve my QoL in that regard include:
- The mouse pointer automatically moves to whatever target the auto-aim has designated. If that target is next to/under a UI element, the element tooltip pops up. When the intended target is on the lower 30% of my screen, that means I’m constantly having tooltips pop up unnecessarily during combat, blocking my view.
While turning off tooltips can be helpful in this situation, it creates an annoying problem of constantly having to remember to toggle them off/on when I do/don’t need them. A better solution (and one that would solve other disability AND technology related issues, such as support for larger displays - which benefits technology enthusiasts AND gamers with eyesight related disabilities) would be to allow us to unlock UI elements separately, move them and resize them as needed, or even show/hide elements we find unnecessary, as well as being able to lock those elements back in place.
-
Prioritize input for our directional analog stick over target choices made by the auto-aim. I can’t count how many times I’ve been holding the left stick hard in the direction I intend to aim, only to have the auto-aim decide to arbitrarily spin me around completely, facing away from my intended target.
-
Change the “hard-lock” for targeted aoe skills to a soft-lock, or remove that lock entirely. As it stands, the game currently automatically selects a seemingly random target for placing the target reticle, and refuses to allow me to move the cursor off the selected target. This means those skills are utterly useless to me, since I cannot designate the specific location I intend to cast on.
-
Allow us to fully remap controller buttons and combinations as we see fit. This will allow us to manage things ourselves, in a way that directly supports our individual disability needs.
-
Find a way to add voice-to-text for all text fields, including chat, messages and search functions. While I understand that this is a big task, I also understand it could be made easier by working in coordination with companies already excelling in that area, such as Dragon by Nuance - services we would already be using, if using third party apps wouldn’t result in a ban. Simply put, the on-screen keyboard either needs to be drastically improved upon in terms of functionality and usability, or the option of adding VtT needs to be evaluated.
-
Don’t forget about us. A lot of users simply prefer controllers, but for many of us they are an absolute necessity for play. You already have a great platform for controller support, but it seems that there are no plans for major improvements on the horizon. You’ve done great so far in this regard, I’m just asking you to come a little further
And, the recent fix for some controller issues has introduced a bug that causes the game to hard crash to desktop whenever a player with an active controller attempts to use a text input field. I am aware of no current plans to fix this issue, and the many bug report threads about it have been met with near radio-silence. I see that a fix for that issue is coming soon, thanks so much!
Edit - Another solution to a lot of the targeting difficulties would be to allow us to turn off auto-aim all together. Using an aimed ability in that situation would be as simple as facing our character in whatever direction we’re currently holding the right stick. We could then tilt the analog stick in the direction of our intended target, and for hold abilities we could continue to rotate and tilt the right stick to where we wanted the attack to go. For placing aoe abilities, triggering the aoe once should reset the cursor to the center of the screen, where we could use the right stick to move the targeting reticle where we want, then trigger the ability again to set it off.
In that situation, giving us a button press (preferably clicking the right analog stick, but again full controller remapping would be a big help here) to reset our cursor to the center of the screen would be great.
Are we talking about the same game? not to be disruptive, but THIS lost ark we have in western market, is all but well received.
Me and mine love it. Many seem to hate it. We’re each only seeing things from our own echo-chamber, but it is also true that it’s usually the unhappy ones who feel the need to have their voices heard, potentially making their group seem proportionally larger than the happy group.
My point is, the truth is probably somewhere much more in the middle than what we see people posting online, or even saying in game.
Appreciate AGS taking the initiative to being the game to the US/EU, but the player base really needs some regular communication to build some faith with the community.
Eastern games have aomg history leaving western audiences high and dry… And the challenges of AGS other games don’t build confidence. People want to know their time and money spent won’t go unsupported.
New World team has started releasing videos and patch notes to bread crumb their audience and Lost Ark could benefit from the same.
P. S. Inability to solve bot issue quickly is generating a lack of confidence.
Morning everyone!
I see some new feedback this morning
I’ll be updating the main post asap!
- Controller support / accessibility
- content cadence speeds with appropriate catchup mechanics
- bug fix with the rapport quest [Time To Heal]
- potential reductions of penalties when leaving guilds. (This one I’d like to discuss more and I’ll get into that soon).
- Roadmaps! - I have a feeling this one’s coming really soon.
I’ll be back again a bit later on guys! Just gotta do my dayjob xD
I’d personally like a way to convert the Bound Honing stones/shards up to the next tier.
I think having them roster bound may negatively impact the player market. Because i would never use the market to purchase them ever again lol
For example, lets say i have an additional 20k green shards left over each time im done leveling a character to 600, i would have 120k green shards left over from the base 6 character slots. Even if i had a 10 or even a 5 to 1 conversion rate (from green to blue shards) that’s still 12k or 24k blue shards respectively. That way theyre still useful past their current upgrade tier.
POSITIVITY ?..here it is
Tell amazon to listen to the community so they dont lose the other half of the playerbase.
Not even going lie didn’t read it too many words, just writing cuz disagree with send them good vibes. Imagine how it feels when the KR side gets the notice , care and attention . While NA just raído silence. No disrespect to the director , he’s amazing guy, but both ASG and SG have done nothing to even attempt fix anything.
I like this idea too!! Conversions to higher materials actually sounds really cool.
I’ll get that added to the list soon!
^^
I will have this added to the list as
- players would like to know and be assured that they are being heard and that actions are being taken to address the concerns.
Thanks for your input jack!
If you have any further ideas do let us know and leave a motivation message for the teams so we can cheer them on!
Kindness goes a long way :3
I shall add your concern to the list as;
- players would like to feel the same love and care that KLOA players receive from the director and devs teams. We want to mirror the great service provided by smilegates HQ.
If you’d like to leave a small motivating comment for Smilegate devs, the director or some of the AGS staff please do!
It would be an awesome surprise for them to see some support overall and lift their spirits! We need to remember that the people working behind the scenes are human too and as time goes by we learn and build off one another.
Glad to hear people supporting the game, I love that aspect.
I’ve played a lot of KR’s MMO’s that have released to the west and let me tell ya they did not giving a single care for us, they treated us like second class citizens. My apologies for being spectacle for thinking anything would change. The game is amazing nonetheless, f2p friend and the company seems to care a lot so I hope they can move foward in good direction, that benefit players and game.
Thanks so much for your input Blanc it means a lot!!
I can’t wait for the day that our concerns as a community are heard and addressed, I’m sure at the start it might be slow to progress, however because right now is in theory a low point, the best direction to go is up!
I will continue to pass on this feedback through every channel I’ve been able to network with and get visibility on it :).
I need the communities help to get the word out about this thread and get it up on a big LOA streamers radar so they can use their platforms to help our voices get heard that would be amazing!
As always everyone, keep it positive, we are all on this ship together and let’s make it sail!! We got this.
One thing I would really like to see is the original character customization options that were taken out of our version of the game. While I understand that this was done so that more diverse customization options could be made available for our western audience it would have been great if those new options were added on as additional options to what was originally available, instead of being added as replacement options. As an example of what I mean, a few of my friends have tried using character presets from other regions (KR for example) and it seems as though the presets do not work due to the actual facial/hair options being missing from our version of the game.
Yeaaah me too, they should add those missing face presets!
Ahhhh omg I totally forgot about these!!! What an awesome suggestion!
I’ll get that added to the cosmetics section! :3
