If you and I and other people, since day one in any version of Lost Ark not mention NA, not release yet, try any mage class, Summoner was there, when the game comes out in Korea, Russia, and Japan.

Because you don’t have any fully DPS mage since arcana has some weird mechanics that you need stack cards first and after getting a full DPS burst, many people choose Summoner because she was there since day one the game has launched in Korea.

Years pass and Koreans get Season 2.0, Tier 1 to 3, lots of things and so one so forth, in the middle of this current year, Korea release finally the Sorceress the full DPS mage that everyone was looking for, and as far could be, summoner was the close to her playstyle, many of the summoners whoever had made a Summoner maybe not a SUMMONER GUY/GIRL, many of them play as summoner because the class they like wasn’t there for them to choose, they were forced to play summoner and I can guarantee, wester prefers fully DPS char instead summoner by far.

Now, I am one of those players, I have spent almost 3 years playing lost ark, and now the new sorceress release, but my Summoner is in tier 3 content now, only now sorceress has been released…

As you can see in your screenshot, it’s sure summoner will be in high popularity in tier 3, she was inside the game 3 years ago since day one, or do you think people will DELETE 3 years of work because another class has been released?

No, they won’t delete their char, logic, but many of them will start making the class they ever needed and wasn’t there.

If you want really prove your point, where is the screenshot comparison after Sorceress was released in the middle of 2021 vs new summoner classes, how many sorceresses is made for PvE, and how many summoners are mad for PvE, both are incredible in PvP but summoner is older and more famous because is hard to deal with her pet’s in PvP.

If you can prove I am wrong, I will apologize and say I really was spreading miss information, but…

I haven’t gotten into PvE in this game at all but I’ve heard that Summoner is a very popular class for PvE progression because pets will passively damage the boss while the player focuses on dodging stuff.

How does posting a video of someone else giving their opinion (without any numbers either) prove anything? You are saying that no one is playing summoner but you are not providing any numbers at all. Yoon posted actual numbers with the source being loawa.com. Are you suggesting those numbers are not real or are you of the new people in society that state things as fact without any evidence whatsoever?

My 2 cents on this matter is that AGS is too busy censoring the game and dyeing NPCs so they couldnt fix any bugged pets the summoner class might had?

Well, you were stating that the summoner popularity since season 2 on KR servers is close to nonexistent. Afaik, that is simply not true. As a matter of fact at the beginning of season 2 summoner was so overtuned that it was nerfed (Saintone also states this in an interview with Stoopz). Lots of people rerolled summoner in that period.

Btw, a new gear tier is also a perfect time for rerolling. You don‘t need to stay with your main forever.

I follow a lot of korean streamers on twitch and from my point of view summoners are top tier dps atm even post nerf.

Maybe (most probably) the summoners popularity was decreasing at some point of time. No one is arguing that. But you talk of nonexistent popularity. Those are strong words you pick… and they draw a picture which may be misleading for people reading your posts being far away from reality.

So lets do another Screenshot of every class over GS1400+ and yes, the Sorc has almost double the players of the Summoner.

Would have been so much easier and faster if @Ninjutsu just clicked on the link and took a screenshot themself, instead of posting a random video in a different language than most of the participants speak in this round…

As I said before, the summoner has lost popularity, and your screenshot is proving I am right, the tendentious screenshot before from @Yoon just proves what I said, older class is easy to get high-level lost gear, and be used in and game, in @Yoon screenshot summoner was higher close to the top, because this I said in that particular gear score is normal, and your screenshot now proves I am writing about the popularity of the sorceress is much higher than summoner, ty.

I never said because sorceress was new cannot be in high rank, we were discussing 1500+ gear score, that why I ask lower gear score comparing, and you did. ty, this just proves, the sorceress is catching up even though is almost 3 years now, and as I said before, this proves the preference of a full DPS class instead of a summoner.

On lower ilvl sorc is more popular than summoner, agreed. However, summoners popularity is not close to being nonexistent. Especially in higher ilvl ranges (I posted the highest ilvl, aka endgame content).

It’s not irregular for a new, strong class to be more popular than a launch class after how ever many years the game has been out so far in KR. I don’t think the KR data on this subject is relevant for new regions. Every class is new for new players.

A classic spellcaster is unique but so is the only pet class.

AGS said they swapped Sorc for SMN because they felt like it. People are asking for the “real reason” but I think that’s literally it.

I agree but that’s how it is. It’s clear both in how they act and what they’ve said that they’re going to be making changes without our input because “insert PR reason” (they feel like it). This forum exists as a place for players to vent frustration and nothing more. Feedback is pointless when changes are set in stone before they’re even implemented.

I just feel this wasn’t a decision made by SmileGate, but was asked by AGS to make the change and SmileGate not knowing any wiser, just did it on their request.

I have asked SGR for clarification on this, as I cannot currently access it in game to check. We did not request any changes be made to the skin and simply received assets, but I will share an update when I have one.

Despite popular class variants, pvp issues or future updates it’s undeniable that summoner is one of the classes players have the most fun and I think taking it off launch is a loss for those who love the class (like me) . I had a lot of fun in the RU with her.

Btw if it’ s a problem of popularity. Why will we get 4 hunter classes (even when hawk eye and devil hunter are the less popular in the list) and only 2 classes for the mages?
That’s not ok if we consider that the bard is a support so we have only 1 way to be a pure dps

I have a strong filling about this rework of booth classes, in my case, I never like the Summoner, I hate the Identity of the classes be Summons, It will be much nicer if you can choose a skill to summon and the Identity skill(Z) some kind of AoE damage, this way who don’t use all the summons can choose 1 or 2 only to be flexible in the playstyle you wanna play, set some summons in identity skill force people use summons if they don’t want.

i wonder if You played it or even saw gameplay of this?
You indeed have 2 pets + flower “turret” as summons, You can use it or not although they do constant dmg with low maintance esspecially in pvp and heavy movement fights.
While your identity skills dont summon anything beside animation of different creatures dealing instant AOE DMG within different areas depending which one You chose
