Well… AGS is not a billion dollar company. They are owned by one. I work for a company with 350 employees and we are owned by mullti bullion euro company… it pretty much does not matter that much.
AGS is still a bumch of amateurs so it was pretty expected that they fuck this up too.
they already stated they could not add servers…
correction … AGS is trying to host the game couse this a mess…
They always say what they cant do, never heard about what they can do.

man we are responding to your opening post saying move servers into another region… which they have stated clearly that they cannot do. They cannot add any more servers to the existing region.
Instead they could open a new region which they did.
lol it did not only take 2-.3 tries during primetime …
and what did it solve? nothing.
for us it took 2-3 tries as full party. and it did solve because prior to this we couldnt do single one
i understand 0 of this stuff, can a Server like Zinnervale be moved to EU West? that server (where i play) is only people from the West side of Europe (from Portugal to Spain to some English and French as far as i can tell, sure it might have germans, italians etc… obviously), but i don’t think it’s that simple or possible, if it was they would have done it to start with right?
the only true solution is account transfer, having checks like Check for name being used, remove characters from guild, remove all action house items and send them to inventory, etc… all of that and then the character is transfered, then you enter and it pops up showing the “select a name because the one you had was in use”. i don’t know but that seems the best solution, is it possible? extremely hard? no idea.
I’m not competent on servers at all, but I’ve spoken to several people who work with it as their livelyhood saying everything AGS is saying is total crap and that anything can be done if you’re willing to
This isn’t 100% accurate… sure money + time can get almost anything done, but the level of effort vs the risk in a production environment is always a tough balance
Everyone can sit here and say they should do XYZ… but they aren’t part of the developers and don’t know everything that is involved…
I mean even WoW, which has mastered the character transfer, can’t transfer between regions…
They weren’t talking about server transfers as much as expanding server capacity like AGS is saying is impossible. For all I know you might be right, and AGS might be right as I have no clue personally, but I find it hard to believe the wording impossible.
again that wasn’t where you started this conversation… you started with something they had already stated they could not do, so they did the best thing they could do. Not about whether it worked or not, they did what they could. They couldn’t add servers to the region so they opened a new one.
Didn’t affect me either way, as I’ve never encountered a queue or mm problems…
Apparently ‘‘THe TechoNgly IsNt thDere’’ meanwhile 10 years old indie MMOs have server transfer 
ppl figured out a way in a few hours to repair a malfunction on a spacecraft million miles away from earth, and bring it back.
Maybe they should try moving it to Microsoft Azure. Amazon AWS doesn’t seem up to the job.
