People are mad at the wrong guy lol. OP is trying to share what worked for him, in hopes it work for someone else. Might not help all but if even one more person can solve this issue with these steps, then it was worth it.
If you want to be salty about the DC, donāt be in front of someone thats actively trying to find a solution, bandaid or not, it isnāt the matter.

I have seen that happen a lot Today, and usually i was also the one getting disconnected and havenāt noticed that a lot of people get disconnected at the same time.
And for the first time since Launch, i was not among the people who get disconnected, which makes me feel positive about the āPossible Fixā
EDIT: Just a note, this happened multiple times during 1 run of Valtan, and i havenāt got a single disconnect, where other people got DCĀ“d multiple times during the same run and the same instance.
There is no solution when its server side. Server side easy to see 4 ppls in pt 2 or 3 ppls dc in same time or almost same, or all get freeze in pt but chat working and we write about freeze for some sec and after freeze from ping like 31 show 4k+ 1-3sec and one/2 ppl get dc or with luck no one ;). āAmazin serversā close to Cabal Online ones where they dont care for years about fix just everyday promos in cash shop to milk $ from ppls. Till time when they still get $ from ppls easly there will be no fix, someone who play especially 20+ years in mmo know how it works Ofc there is too noā¦s who just defend game by saying stop complain and so on and so on, that ppls too in real life say that politics wannt their good xD, when politics say to them that eating their shiā¦ is healthy so they will eat without ācomplaināā¦

It would be very strange if you after said 25 years of experience would not know how DNS system works, what flushdns does, what VPN is etc. In fact you would NOT advise any single step you did. Iām very sorry.
This isnāt a PC Lecture Class, this is a thread trying to fix a problem that exists, and i offer a solution that has worked for me in hope that somebody else can get it fixed.

If itās server issue (which this is, as evidenced by multiple people getting DCed at the same time often proceeded by large lag spike). Iām glad you think it worked for you. But you know what? I did literally nothing and i also didnāt have a DC for a week now. Woooow! Magic trick that will fix your DC issues: do nothing.
There are people who think a sugar pill can cure serious illnesses. There even are some people who claim a sugar pill worked wonders for them. Itās a know phenomenon and itās called āplacebo effectā. In reality bullshit will remain bullshit and no magic voodoo will work.
AGS are the ones who have to get their shit together and fix their servers/game. They are the ONLY ones that can. Itās physically impossible for you to have any impact on the source of the problem, whatever it is. Becasue one thing it most certainly is not is your PC.
Also, letās remember there might be multiple sources of disconnects. There is a very clear server issue, but you might have had a problem on your end, problem unique to YOU and you somehow fumbled into fixing that unique problem YOU had. The server issue still remains, even tho your unique problem went away.
If i edit my post saying āAGS FIX THE SERVERS OMGā, like most of you do, will you be happy?
Ofc you will, because people like you feed on the negativity, when this eventualy gets fixed on the Server side, you will start looking for the next thing to get angry about.

Your fix is temporary. Once a wave of bots log in, wave of DC comes with it. Bots makes space for themselves by attacking the server and kicking legit players as well as other bots.
You are not helping anyone because you CAN"T help anyone. Itās physically impossible. You are just spreading nonsense, telling people to do shit with their PCs they have no clue about. Things that have consequences.
FOR EXAMPLE: Back when i was in Uni years ago i was living in a dorm. We had universityās internet there. Setting DNS to ANYTHING but automatic would fuck up your internet. It simply wouldnāt work and it wouldnāt tell you why. In some Uniās this might be a break period. Some bright minded individual might listen to you , change his DNS, forget heās done that once heās back from break and then spend hours trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong. All thanks to you. Thatās just one example. Some ISPs might have similar issues, you have no clue because you clearly are clueless.
So get off your fucking high horse. You are not doing anything productive here. You are just sucking your own dick pretending you are better than everyone else because you got lucky and didnāt dc for 3 days. As i already said: i didnāt dc for a week and i did literally nothing. We got a magic solution to DCs now!!! WOHOOOOOOO!

For the longest time i have been getting disconnected almost every 10 minutes, after the steps i did the game runs flawlessly for almost 3 days now, which has never happend before.
I have also tried to revert the changes i did, i got disconnected in 15 minutes of playing.
I once again changed the dns and guess what, i dont dc anymore Einstein.
