It would be very strange if you after said 25 years of experience would not know how DNS system works, what flushdns does, what VPN is etc. In fact you would NOT advise any single step you did. I’m very sorry.
This isn’t a PC Lecture Class, this is a thread trying to fix a problem that exists, and i offer a solution that has worked for me in hope that somebody else can get it fixed.
You on the other hand with all of your exp choose to be a negative-a plaguing every single thread on the forum with “oh you cant fix it, amazon this, amazon that”. (Yes i have checked your posting history)
If you choose to be that person, i don’t have a problem with that, but as i said earlier and asked you to leave this thread in peace.
Your negative attitude is not welcome here, as a matter of fact, i don’t consider this thread to be a “kinder garden”, so if you continue your Crusade against the people who actually try to help, i will start flagging your responses.

If it’s server issue (which this is, as evidenced by multiple people getting DCed at the same time often proceeded by large lag spike). I’m glad you think it worked for you. But you know what? I did literally nothing and i also didn’t have a DC for a week now. Woooow! Magic trick that will fix your DC issues: do nothing.
There are people who think a sugar pill can cure serious illnesses. There even are some people who claim a sugar pill worked wonders for them. It’s a know phenomenon and it’s called “placebo effect”. In reality bullshit will remain bullshit and no magic voodoo will work.
AGS are the ones who have to get their shit together and fix their servers/game. They are the ONLY ones that can. It’s physically impossible for you to have any impact on the source of the problem, whatever it is. Becasue one thing it most certainly is not is your PC.
Also, let’s remember there might be multiple sources of disconnects. There is a very clear server issue, but you might have had a problem on your end, problem unique to YOU and you somehow fumbled into fixing that unique problem YOU had. The server issue still remains, even tho your unique problem went away.

Ofc you will, because people like you feed on the negativity, when this eventualy gets fixed on the Server side, you will start looking for the next thing to get angry about.
Im not a person like that i and feel sorry for everyone who is.
Your fix is temporary. Once a wave of bots log in, wave of DC comes with it. Bots makes space for themselves by attacking the server and kicking legit players as well as other bots.

You are not helping anyone because you CAN"T help anyone. It’s physically impossible. You are just spreading nonsense, telling people to do shit with their PCs they have no clue about. Things that have consequences.
FOR EXAMPLE: Back when i was in Uni years ago i was living in a dorm. We had university’s internet there. Setting DNS to ANYTHING but automatic would fuck up your internet. It simply wouldn’t work and it wouldn’t tell you why. In some Uni’s this might be a break period. Some bright minded individual might listen to you , change his DNS, forget he’s done that once he’s back from break and then spend hours trying to figure out what the fuck is wrong. All thanks to you. That’s just one example. Some ISPs might have similar issues, you have no clue because you clearly are clueless.
So get off your fucking high horse. You are not doing anything productive here. You are just sucking your own dick pretending you are better than everyone else because you got lucky and didn’t dc for 3 days. As i already said: i didn’t dc for a week and i did literally nothing. We got a magic solution to DCs now!!! WOHOOOOOOO!

So what you are saying is:
- I cant fix the disconnect issue that has been going on since Launch of the game.
- I should just give up.
- This needs to be Fixed by AGS
- I should stop trying to help somebody.
And my answer to that is:
- For the longest time i have been getting disconnected almost every 10 minutes, after the steps i did the game runs flawlessly for almost 3 days now, which has never happend before.
I have also tried to revert the changes i did, i got disconnected in 15 minutes of playing.
I once again changed the dns and guess what, i dont dc anymore Einstein. - No, im not that weak of a person.

It might, as per real life example i provided. You have no clue about specific network setups people use and setting static DNS may mess a lot of them up.

Your solution is just as good a my “solution”. Only AGS can fix this mate. You might not like it, you can come up with a bunch of bs solutions - problem will not go away until THEY fix it. there are things in life you have no influence over. What you are doing is equivalent to a child throwing a tantrum when it realizes it has no power to affect things.
The best thing you CAN do is provide them with data in the feedback thread. It’s, literally, the ONLY thing you can do.

clueless on how the internet works. do you think everyone has the same isp or ping or data plans? there’s so many factors that if one person is impacted then not a big deal but if it’s your whole player base it’s 100% server side!! if you can’t handle the amount of connections or stabilize the handshake regardless of someone’s route and distance then it doesnt matter what internet u have or what u do to your computer. When the server doesnt respond to ur request you will DC even if it’s for a second!!

Very kind of you sharing this valuable information. However, I do believe that mass disconnection is server-side problem. This might be a remedy if a single person is experiencing consecutive disconnection. Not so much when the entire raid is being disconnected at the same time.

You can also use Prio, it is a “process priority saver” so you don’t have do do it every single time, but I think the real fix is the DNS thing, I can only play using a VPN, there is no way “doing something on our side would never fix this”, it seems like neither AGS knows what the problem really is, network troubleshooting is so complicated lol

No network/computer guy here, but both can be true. It can be server side, but changing your config could help. If it was completely server side I would imagine there would be massive DCs for everyone. But reality might be that individual configurations might make certain people more susceptible to DCs than others.
