Who knows to turn it on?
It makes the in-game ui look like arse on non-ultrawide monitors; it’s not on by default and if it wasn’t an issue then I wouldn’t get opponents completely oblivious to me seeing them, just running into my nukes during pvp!
What I said was: have it one way or the other by default to level the playing field.
This is not a problem to 1v1 which i guess will be the core pvp as you can carry the whole game just being good no matter what teammate you get and doesn’t have this camera problem
But I found that it especially was in 1v1! On ranged classes which I primarily play it was really beneficial! Before I toggled it on, when meeting another of the same class, I’d get bombed to oblivion, whereas now, with it on, the matches are either fair or complete stomps.
afaik it has been addressed before and the devs are completely aware of the aspect ratio advantage and they’ve attempted to mitigate the advantages a bit with changes such as the FOV change that i believe happened before our launch. but i do not believe they’ll ever disable the higher aspect ratios or anything to fully remove the advantage.
learning the aspect ratio advantage will just end up being part of the learning curve i believe and while i don’t like having to force 21:9 i still do it :/.
I think an easy solution would just be having it toggle on whenever you go pvp. Or if you don’t like it opt out and take the disadvantage, but I don’t like playing generally using it, just having to manually toggle it on each time I queue for pvp is a needless hassle I feel.
It has already been addressed, you have the option to force it on if you want lol… some people…
So just do research to have a chance? Instead of relying on the skills the game teaches you to?
Chance? Who doesnt look at the gsme options lol. Its an isometric game, widescreen always has a larger fov. Should be obvious, skill sounds like the least of concerns. You csm play arpund ot anyways, its not a requirement, im currently playing on a 15inch monitor so ofc not using 21:9 and yet still win 95% of my games. Either way its an advantsge sure but they give the ability to force it.
Precisely! And since it looks like shite and no one wants to use it without an ultrawide monitor, it’s not obvious that you -should- use it during, and basically only during pvp. What I am asking is to make it equal and obvious that it is an option in-game to level the playing field. Instead of having to go watch a youtube video about how someone can nuke you from one screen over. Talking from experience.
EDIT: removed silly emoji
? It is obvious though… There is a tick box that literally says force 21:9. If someone is playing at a wider aspect then they are going to have a wider fov? If this isnt obvious then…
Having to toggle on: equal, isn’t equal now is it.
I mean, 21:9 sucks ass. Not for the res advantage but cause Pixel density is way too small and It causes me to whiff skills a lot even by a small margin sometimes when I have my cursor almost on them.
The correct play is to increase the fov of 16:9 but it seems like rocket science to achieve this, so I would much rather keep 21:9 vs getting off screened even harder by some rando rng gap closer in default 16:9
So what you want it forced on or a giant blinker in the middle of the screen? Dont be so fkin lazy lol. Its not a problem you are just pointlessly nit picking, they provided a solution to the problem, use it or dont. Jesus wtf is wrong with people nowadays lol.
Yeah and it’s garbage cause everything is narrow af…
I find it much better than the black bars. I think you might be overexaggerating a little bit. Things are only slightly vertically stretched.
I’m not… I tried it. Looks abysmal on 1440p reverted it instantly
On 1440p yea that’s true probably, I’m on 1080 and on 1080 it’s not that big of a diference.
Perhaps… It looks so disproportionate and the pixel space / aiming looked even worse to me
