There is a lot of misinformation about this subject from lazy testing. If you google “my igniter CDR doesn’t work” etc. the first results will be incorrect. I thought I should do a PSA to maybe correct this.
This is how it works: activated CDR in this game ticks once per 3 seconds of cooldown, the exception being when you activate it. This means: you will get CDR for the entire duration of your class benefit, but it will only give your abilities CDR if they were on cooldown when it started, or you have used them during, and more than 3 seconds of your class benefit remains after casting.
To put it in other words: the cooldown reduction is applied at the beginning of the effect (it will work on any abilities on cooldown when Z is activated) and it will ALSO be applied to any abilities you cast DURING, but only if they have been on cooldown for 3 seconds, and provided the effect hasn’t ended in that time.
I hope this clears things up for a people, and alleviates a lot of frustration with skill rotations.
