Hey everyone,
Just as a quick premise to this thread, I have topped off at 2400 masters, have played 10 different classes and have over 3000 games in ranked pvp.
Currently pvp is suffering from quite a few issues that add up to create awful/unfun experiences. Im hoping to list off a few of these issues while hopefully recommending a solution.

Outrageous differences in Ranking
Currently, as a masters player I am ‘Frequently’ placed into game where my team is comprised of Golds, Silvers and even bronze players. While this may be ‘passable’ to some extent as to have ONE every once in a while, however I find my team being made up for 2 of those lower ranks while facing a some-where inbetween group of all plats or plat-plat-diamond. These games become un-winnable due to pure gameplay experience. -
Double X_ Match-ups
Another massive issues that happens all too often is running into a strange mirror match where there is ‘4’ of one class be it berserkers or sorcs. This creates a completely uncompetitive space. Normally a single pairing mirror creates for an interesting interaction between the two. Then during the 4x mirror it just turns into pure chaos of everyone mashing buttons and praying that the third person on the team is a counter to the other 2. -
Awakening stones/equipment
A small little thing, but you should not let people queue for ranked without having awakening stones in their inventory. Likewise they should not be able to queue without having a weapon equipped. These two small things can create an instant loss for any team with a member suffering any of these issues. Without a weapon, you are unable to use any skills and you can not equip one mid match. -
Team Compositions
This is a Multifaceted issue Ill start with the known and move to the unknown and speculation.
3 Melee V 3 Ranged
Uncommon, but at times you will get a full team of warriors vs all non warrior(Warriors I.E. GL, Zerk, Dest, Pally). While not ‘impossible’ by any means, are insanely difficult at the very least, at higher MMR.
Uneven Supports
Usually I state something is ‘uncommon’ or ‘rare’, this issue is VERY common. Most games are instantly defined by a team having 0 supports vs 1 or even 2 support. The normal comp is either 0-1 supports vs 1-2 supports. With some better sifting of these support players, there should always be one per team, per match.
SPECULATION
After 3k games played I have started to notice a pattern that seems like a big issue as to why the support issue occurs. I believe that when the match making system starts to create teams, it believes that paladins are the same as Zerks, Dest, and GL (Mainly Zerk and GL) due to the classification of Warrior. If so Bards and Paladins need to be reclassified to help the matchmaking system.
These are just some of the issues that I run into that came to mind while creating this thread. I love this game and its pvp, and would love to see its pvp in a healthier place than its current standing. If that means that queue times go up in order to create more competitive games, then I am more than willing to wait.
