QOL - Please turn BOUND to ROSTER BOUND

Yeah they are looking at the financials, discussing with the psychoanalysts about how much the average player will put up with and are making calculated decisions based on how to slowly keep the community playing while at the edge of a tether of acceptance before they boil over. To be fair, whomever it is is doing a fine job at what he was likely hired to do, which was not to make a good video game or make people playing rhe game happy.

Companies like Gamigo have this down to a science, they know exactly how much the average person will put up with even in a terrible game and still continue to not only play, but also pay.

I just had higher expectations for AGS to not follow this mentality and maybe go for more of a happy healthy game long term = better than a short term cash grab.

Just as FYI, this has been talked about here:

I dont know why, probably because Amazon is a multibillion dollar company that everyone uses for shopping but i expected huge things from AGS in gaming,customer service and respect and i think deep down all the rage and sadness people are feeling comes from this failure of AGS to meet expectations.

Oh it is, 100%

We held AGS in a higher regard than we would have if they were “A small indy company”. They have the backing of one of the richest companies in the world and they have done nothing but trip over their own feet at every turn.

Multiple failed projects before finally releasing New World, which honestly is a fun game (1600+ hours) and does have it’s shining moments… But the development direction early on and the endless issues with very extreme game breaking bugs left a sour taste in our mouths.

Now, with LA we all assumed hey, they are gonna publish this really great game and make a little profit… nobody was expecting them to cut the game down to it’s like 1.0 client, remove so much of the KR/RU QOL stuff that was added over the years and then start drip dropping content and leaving massive paywall like issues for weeks on end.

I guess we just held our expectations higher than we should have.

Thanks for the heads up on this

@Roxx

Just to be clear, this is a terrible idea. Allowing players to transfer already bound materials that cannot be sold from one alt to another via your roster storage should be allowed. There are dozens of cases where you are doing something on one character (say, sol grande) that drops materials that your current character cannot use, but a multitude of your alts can.

Expecting players to just delete materials because they achieved a milestone of a new Tier is horrible game design. Especially in a game that prioritizes having so many Alt characters, being able to move T1/2 honing materials into roster storage should be allowed.

If for example a T2 Moon Breath (Bound) drops while i’m on my T3, I should have every right to give that to one of my ROSTER characters, Simply being at fault for being on the wrong character at the wrong time just feels bad.

The same goes for running Cubes. My T3 mains have T2 cube tickets that no have such little playable value since I can’t finish the Cube and give those essential materials that I worked for, I ran the dungeon for, I farmed for to one of my alts that has a need for it.

nobody expects to be allowed to trade/sell these materials. we want to move them around our own personal account so that they aren’t sitting in one characters bank until we fustration delete them

Well said, if anything AGS taught me that money cant buy success and that creating and managing games is hard work not everyone can do, i have so much more respect for indie companies and other high quality games that had much fewer issues.

Yes please make this change

But also, This!

I know this was discussed already, but in reality

  1. Slow dripping content makes them more overall. If they just dumped all classes / skins out right away people will pick the favorite and ignore the rest. By slowly releasing them you’ll buy this months and next month think “Oh, that looks good too” and you’ll buy it as well.

  2. There hasn’t been much evidence of any feedback being taken seriously so far. We have a butchered version of LA that is missing not only content, but years of QOL and client fixes. The only “Feedback” was “Whoops Argos to soon?” and then postpone the roadmap for now weeks.

  3. Events are a cheap way to shut players up and dump in resources. This isn’t even a daily assitance, it’s a weekly welfare check. All week long you grind the events so you can “Hit Big” on Thursday. Then when you fail 11 of your 13 honing attempts, you do it all again for next week.

I’m not saying you can’t play LA F2P, I do, and I will continue to for a long time, mostly out of spite now. I don’t mind spending on Gacha games, but progression paywalls like 1340-1370 just simply isn’t worth buying to bypass.

Bump, for great justice.

This. My main is sitting on ~150K Harmony Shards from clearing dailies, islands, chaos pre-Yorn, and more, none of which having been events. All of that potential is sitting there wasted. I don’t want to bag those shards back up to sell, I just want to be able to access those shards (and by extension destruction/guardian/leap) on the rest of my roster since the rest of my roster can’t even access the original drop sources as those sources (mostly island quests) are one-time roster as well.

The style of gameplay in this version has been tailored to encourage alts, but then punishes maining by not warning the player that all of their rewards will be wasted if they play a single character outside of their tier. Migrating everything hard-bound to roster-bound will remove a significant portion of player frustration while at the same time alleviating some of the honing mat strain by releasing resources being held hostage back to their existing owners.

This, out of all the random rants and suggestions this one is good

I feel this should really be considered.

I have so many wasted materials sitting in banks on my alts that every time I look at I feel sad.

@Roxx

Another thread that supports the idea of being able to move bound materials across our alts. Not sell them, just internally move them within our own account.

Bumping

Came to the forums looking to post this. Thread already here. It’s truly RIDICULOUS that this was changed for our Western release when Korea can freely use the currently WASTED honing materials we are stuck with. PLEASE LET ALL HONING MATS BE ROSTER BOUND AS THEY SHOULD BE!!

It would be an incredible welcomed change for sure and would definitely motivate me more to actually get an alt going because as of now, with my limited time to play, getting an alt is to much of a hassle and it’s a shame because I don’t like my main but I don’t feel like redoing 1355.

But this whole rhetoric of KR/RU being roster bound is completely false and has already been proven to be false on this forum.

Id say please turn all “roster bound” to “character bound” so people spend more money when they fuck up.If you wasted mats and have a bunch of bound mats,its your own fault.For example if you dismantle a ring that costs 100k gold ,and you realize right after what you have done,its not the games fault,its your own,you didnt do the research and you didnt know the price so you fcked up.I have 40 wasted blue mats from t2 and 15 leapstones ,thats it,you know why? Because i actually planned and know how to play the game.Would be nice if people stopped blaming their mistakes on everything but themselves
