1 - Is it possible to make the game launch faster please ? i have no idea why it always takes about 3 minutes for the game to start up.
2 - Could be server issue or ISP issue, we all do get some disconnect errors from time to time. It would be literally game changing if you could just make it so it doesnāt force you to quit the game completely (which means you have to relaunch it which of course takes ages to actually start as mentioned above in point 1 ) but instead, for example, disconnects you out to the server list so you can relog in quick. And letās be honest, it is really annoying especially when this can lead to lost loot and available entries to raids, chaos dungeons ā¦ etc if these random errors do occur near the end of these instances.
So iām really surprised why no one is talking about this issue or why it hasnāt been solved yet, thought why not make my own post about it so maybe they will finally try to address this.
Hopefully this gets pushed up enough for it to get their attention, Thank you for your time
P.S: Yes Iām running on a good PC with fast ssd, and yes multiple people iāve known in my journey in the game do experience the same problem and iām sure many if not all steam users do as well.
That is true but almost all games nowadays use Easy anti-cheat, and none of them take as long as lost ark does, they usually start in less than 15 seconds.
You can check Easyās website and see their partners, not just games, whole multiple game companies, and most of them are online too. True though it could be that they didnāt optimize UE3 well enough.
The game usually takes this much time to start up, we thank you for your patience and cooperation.
I will surely send this feedback to the concern department and inform them about the boot time.
Till then these troubleshooting steps may help in running the game faster on your pc :
Close Lost Ark completely
Restart your home network.
If possible, try changing your network from a wireless to a wired connection.
Force stop Steam
Run Steam as administrator
Verify game files Steam Support :: Verify Integrity of Game Files 27
Check that your antivirus services are all running on your computer.
Re-launch Lost Ark
Do note that the launch time of the game isnāt really the problem, disconnecting errors that āFORCEā you to quit the game completely ARE the real problem here. So making these errors NOT force you to quit the game but instead, just log you out to the server list for example, so itās faster to relog back in, i think this is the solution, so please donāt forget to send feedback about this important point.
Now hereās some troubleshooting iāve done it might help distinguish the problem :
The Game takes about 2:40~ seconds to start up so around 3 minutes till you are in the server list. I tested multiple times with my network, admin status, compatibility options, swapping partitions, trying DX9 instead, verifying files ā¦ etc And multiple people are having the same problem / time as well. Now i believe itās an engine problem (UE3) since the Easy Anti-Cheat instance finishes in just 30 seconds ~ then the game instance starts loading up, since you can see the memory usage of the instance piling up in Task Manager, when it reaches around 3500~ MB, the game starts up. And for it to reach 3500~ + is what takes about 2 minutes. So i think it is actually an engine problem which to be fair we have to acknowledge that it is a 10-year + game. It is probably impossible to fix this issue unless upgrading to a new engine, but as i said above, i donāt mind waiting 3 minutes for the game to start, this isnāt the problem. The real problem is when the random errors force you to quit the game completely so you have to deal with long time game start up, which is really frustrating when it happens in raids, chaos dungeons, timed / entry events ā¦ etc
