Question about honing transfer

If i have my current T1 item and I get a better quality of the same item, but it has a different node (that I do not need) on the new item with higher quality, but my first item that I already honed has the correct node I need for bonuses… if I do honing transfer from the original item to the new item, does the new item get all the old stats including engraving nodes?

Or do I just get the updated item level of the new item but it retains it’s own original individual stats and nodes?

It puts all + onto new item. Nothing else. I dont recal t1 armor & weapon having nodes
