We are scheduled to get a Punika pass in the next 2-3 weeks and I have a question.
Will this pass like the Feiton pass require players to have cleared that content already or will it be like KR were players that make new accounts have access to 2 Punika passes from level 1.
I ask because t1 and t2 content has nobody to play with and is very boring and takes a long time to clear. I’ve had 2 friends to quit before getting 1302 because they spent like 100+ hours and still hadn’t reached Punika, were most people say “the game finally starts”.
With the express and the punika pass, this allows people to be able to play Argos week 1 and feel some satisfaction.
So will this Punika pass to usable to new players or only to players that have already cleared the content.
I can see a concern people may have be “yeah just give bots free punika passes”.
I would say
A. There is only a minimal amount of bots now after all the actions taken, a simple determination is steam charts and the fact that items in the auction house keep losing value since they are deflating.
B. Bots are going to reach tier 3 anyways, so would you rather have 30k bots have access to tier 3 content that they will reach in 1 week or not attract more new players or returning players from the 1.2 million player launch week.
dont quote me on this but i could swear that i read that the punika powerpass will also require people to have finished the content it skips on at least 1 roster character prior to using the pass
Even in KR the power pass requires you to clear the content first. There is a special power pass that lets you start in Punika but it isn’t the one we are getting yet
i’m all for catchup mechanics, but giving a powerpass that allows a completely new player to skip straight to punika isn’t right. they’ll have no context for what happens in the story and unless the powerpass gives all rewards from every quest up to that point, new players will be missing out on a significant bit of roster exp as well as virtue points required for rapport. at least one playthrough should be required like our current powerpasses.
also, helping bots bypass all the blocks and checks that have been recently introduced is a bad idea. they’ve already decided that it’s worth depriving real players of early gold income by messing with many early game rewards, it would be incredibly stupid of them to give bots a free pass to gold-making content.
in the future, a story express might exist that allows players to quickly advance through the main story and get straight to punika or south vern, so new players can use these to get their first character up, then powerpass alts.
if anyone thinks a powerpass on its own will get any significant number of players back, you’re being far too optimistic. the only things i see people coming back for will be a combination of new classes and global honing buff, powerpass and hyper express to at least 1415. if anyone thinks we’ll ever approach launch numbers ever again, you’re just deluded.

i reached punika on like 80hrs+ of playtime without these express events and new island events that gives honing mats + books
if you didnt, that means you werent trying
try to check t3 speed run guides etc, or at least explore islands
they give shtlloads of mats and its so easy to grab
if youre not even trying to put your best effort on those 100 hrs, only wanna do the ez things
then dont expect things to be in your favor
its also not useless to do continent contents, there are horizontal contents that you will need to do in the end, and by doing continents you are progressing the horizontal contents of those continents as well
We don’t know because they wont tell us, communication with AGS is non-existent.
The best we ever get is “we’ll pass this along to the devs”
Also they wont comment on threads that bring up actual problems, because the CMs know that AGS and SG aren’t working on bringing us anything to fix said problems.
not to mention AGS doesn’t care about our feedback, if they did our version of the game wouldn’t be changed for the worse, or it would have been changed by now at least, they literally have shown us that they don’t care time and time again, they have their own agenda and timeframe for things and that’s all they care about.
Most people dont care about story
If they did they would play ff14
People dont want to have to start a game from the bottom, thats the main reason old games struggle to get new players
Imagine telling someone that they need to play like 300 hours before they can fight Argos
People dont even give most games over a couple hours.
Why make people play old content that has no use in the future
Sure they will learn whats destruction and stagger but they wont even find people to do guardian raids with or abyssal dungeons
Their better off putting them with scorpion or yoho since they learn either way but with people and they experience better content
I have a friend with over 500 hours and just hit 1370
I had another that no lifed the game for 2 weeks
Im talking about like 6 hours a day, it took him 2 weeks to reach Punika
Now its easier since prices are lower and more event mats etc
but it still takes a long ass time
You spend more hours reaching 1302 than you take to beat entire games, like Elder Ring takes less time to beat the game than it does to reach Punika
Also thing about how not everyone who plays a game will look at guides or have people to guide them
6hrs/day for 2 weeks = less than 100hrs to reach punika, you said on the thread above 100+hrs and had not reach punika, so your thread is BS yeah?
its not a short period of time but once youve done it, it will stay there forever, its so stupid to play mmorpg that has a story and asked to be allowed to PASS THROUGH all the MSQ
MSQ is what gets you to understand why there are all these legion raids
you going all the way from continent to continent is not something that you will have to do ever again later unless you want to grind cards etc
that is also the experience of playing these kind of games, why is everyone keep on wanting to skip everything holy

msq is not something that you do 2hrs/day everyday, you only need to do it once
later on, grinding chaos, guardian, abyss raids etc will be a daily and weekly things to do
