Questions about VPN

I am an international student who is currently studying in NY.
I am planning to travel for a month from mid-May to visit my family, and I was wondering whether it is possible for me to access to steam and play LostArk in US.

@Roxx @Shadow_Fox Can anyone make FAQ regarding new VPN policies? I can’t find elsewhere, and I want to make sure before I actually play the game since I dont wanna be in trouble.

Thank you as always!

Hello, @ylee25

I understand you have questions about VPN usage.

The FAQ idea about it sounds really cool, we appreciate you bring this great suggestion.

Here’s information that can be useful, Amazon Games Terms of Service.

Section 5.2 — “Due to technical and other restrictions, the Games may be available only in certain locations. We may use technologies to verify your geographic location and restrict access to the Games from other locations. You may not use any technology or technique to obscure or disguise your location.”

If you can’t connect to the game from your new temporary location, either by excessive lag or region blocks, using a VPN wont solve it as you’ll get the error and wont be able to connect to the game.

If I can help you with anything else, let me know.

So, is Korea one of the regions that are blocked?

Also, what if we already have a steam ID that we made it in States?

Can we access to Lostark still without using VPN? Is VPN blocks only for making an account? Or does that actually matters when you are playing?

It will be highly appreciated if you can elaborate how region / VPN block works!

Thank you so much for your answer.
