Quests/Lore behind Gate of Paradise?

I was very curious to know if there were some quests about what’s happening story-wise with those dungeons?

Many Absyss/Legion dungeons/raids are tied to the main storyline, but you can do Gate of Paradise whithout ever having met Nineveh for example. Is there more informations about the background of those three dungeons and what we’re doing there?

Spoiler maybe? I dunno. Also I dunno if I’m 100% accurate but I think I got the gist of it.

That guy, the final boss Alarice or whatever Poseidon dude was a sidereal like Nineveh and crew? And he went cray cray or something I think. He was definitely involved in some shenanigans.
