I’d say let’s listen to some good music while waiting to get in mhm
The secret at this point is to not move from your first server, they just have decide to over sature servers and wait as usual that players quit.
Cause for them it’s only a “hype train” that will lower in a week or two. They never think that people might not leave and stick to the game for a long period…
I’m more about the fact that their recommendation was not a viable solution. Even if everyone did as they asked, this would not solve the problem - as you can see on my example.
If they will open new servers, I won’t move 3rd time - unless they give me character transfer option.
I think a lot of people got burn like this, they moved - following the recommendation, and are now in 2h queue anyway.
The Community Guys are not at fault here, the company behind it is. They can only send the feedback upwards. The upper echelon then will decide.
But in order to maximize income, they choose to disregard everything. They told us yesterday to sit tight and wait until the servers are back. We were sitting tight and waiting.
They over-hasty reduced the limits now and kicked everyone who has characters on servers in the teeth, by filling up the server to the max.
It’s what 10 - 15 people in my guild decide to do last night, before seeing they reopened our first server so we said to new players to create a character there.
After all if they reopen servers it’s that they know what they are doing right?
So after a maintenance of 8h - 10h we played the entire night trying to catch up where we were rushing to return on our previous server at the end…
Also cause the new server was close to character creation in the morning… so we were even more split than before.
Still one day they’ll realise that there’s some players involved in some community shit like managing communities of players and people managing guilds that could EASILY say how many slot they want to reserve on a server before launch…
Cause yeah most guilds / communities aren’t going on games without knowing a bit before launch how much people will come with them approximately direct at start…
The Problem is easily solved:
- Add enough Serverd
- add char Transfer.
But i think their System is not able to do that, otherwise it would be implemented already. Or they dont care if players cannot play and maybe stop playing the game because of this.
I can only assume that since they cannot transfer characters, they also cannot merge servers.
That means they are reluctant to opening too many servers at the same time, and then, 3 weeks from now, paying for upkeep of 30 servers while only 15 are being used while they work on the backend tech.
Otherwise, they would just open multiple more servers yesterday instead of only few - like they did and then monitor and close/open them depending on the traffic.
someone diden understand what it mean to hype up a game and not getting a long Queue …
Problem is the Same 100 % as New World did have … server too small or to few Servers to start with … u have the same Queue Time on all EU servers atm … +2 hours … problæem is that " [Amazon Game Studios] " is in over it … and someone need to get throw in out … becouse the diden learn or understand this … even games back in 1998/1999 did understand this Queue part …
1- rule limet servers " meaning when there are 99 % full no one new can login there and them waiting on queue get thrown off and get told pick a other server.
2- rule make more server on start Day then needed better to close a server Down then need to open new once all the time …
3- rule Lisen to what the F up people saying to you as a Game … and learn from it … if you can nto learn from it you can end up killing youself as a company in the end …
If the are using container solutions, this should be easily possible to downgrade servers after the hype and merge them. I expected ASG to handle this.
The easiest solution: server transfers after the dust settles down, so it doesn’t matter what you do short term.
Well, if they cannot even move character data and profiles from one database to another, then I really don’t think they can ‘easily’ merge servers.
It is of course only assumption.
Today, I can’t even enter in my server. Both times I’ve trayed to play, Both times 12k of people waiting to enter. A game day lost.
I thought that you have the infrastucture to keep all the servers full functional but, as we said in Spain, “At blacksmith’s home, wooden knife”
they don’t care about us, it’s that simple
“eat or die”
At blacksmith’s home, wooden knife
Too many bot accounts farming\selling gold.
You are not listening to anyone. this is what it looks like. Thousands of people who want to play games are in queue. Why don’t you increase the server capacity?
In the meantime, if you give priority to those who want to play while waiting in the queue.
well i managed to play for ~1h before i teleported to a town, the loading image got stuck so i had to end the task. 11095 in queue, no system to allow you to come back if you get dc’ed or this shit stained pile crashes
I do want to hear from Amazon as to why they havent increased these servers already
well, on new world they said the servers couldn’t take more than 2k players, i guess the guys at SG did the impossible (at the time there were 1M online, with ~50 servers => around 15k players / server. to give a bit of context).
since we are talking about AGS, i think it’s impossible
This whole situation shows that AGS either are amateurs in the field (video games, mmo) or that they cheaped out on bigger servers. 30 years old MMOs handled larger playerbases in smaller amount of servers in the 90s. Come on. That’s not excusable.
They underestimated what actual MASSIVELY MULTIPLAYER Online Game’s playerbase looks or feels like. Completely. They published it on small capacity servers (Seemingly, New World had the same issue). That conflicts with MMO as a genre on a very, very basic level.
We should be struggling to get a farming spot in-game, not in queue.
These and several other mistakes of theirs (like not foreseeing obvious issues and solutions to them beforehand) lead me to believe that they simply are amateurs in the field. Which is excusable.
