No worries! Yes, you are correct! That’s not how it was intended to be used so if it’s found that it’s being used in this way, players can be banned.
And on the KR/RU servers, players also officially pay for their bus all the time. It’s even done live on stream.
The statement that it could be banned because it does not correspond to the regular use of the AH is wrong.
It won’t get banned with video proof, so it certainly won’t get banned if random other players do it.
Also, there is nowhere against the terms of service to list Gems in the AH and letting you buy them.
Players just need that one gem to get a bus for it. Totally regular use.
The fact that you have to take this cumbersome detour means that the game is missing a feature to handle a bus more easily.
Banning players for this would be completely absurd.
wait so is to buy a “bus” (a carry for content in the game) with “gold” (the ingame currency) via the Marketplace/Auctionhouse (buy the person’s Gem that is carrying from the other Server) allowed or not? This is getting confusing here, cuz if its not allowed now what? Banning shit ton of the player base? We need a proper Staff-answer who understands this player-made game mechanic. @Roxx
Transfering gold from youself to yourself is not allowed… but buying something from another player is not against tos…
There’s a reason why they don’t do this, firstly its against free market, and it destroys the whole purpose of auction where prices fluctuate.
Might as well add NPC gem trader that lets to buy and sell certain gems of certain level with certain amount of gold.
I think first step for them is to stop being lazy and manually track those transaction with unusual prices, and ban bots. But too bad they won’t be using “manual labor” for this but wait until bots and RMT crashes their profit significantly, let’s see what they do then(actually ban bots or increase the prices of royal crystal based items).
imo it’s impossible for them to not allow carries.
say they ban buying carries w/gold, people will just find other ways such as direct deposit with money, but when they check the logs it’ll just show up as some nice players helping out others for free.
A 3000 gold gem vs a 300k gold gem I’m sure they know who the RMTer is
If they manually review it, sure (e.g. human level eyeball review)
But for any real system against bots to work, it will have to be machine level (e.g. automated), since sheer volume of bots / RMT transactions so large.
Given how many times their other automated systems fail (e.g. players incorrectly flagged for bans, being reported by trolls and auto banned, etc), you really think any future RMT gem violation system will be different?
Yes the gem values are different, but that is where machines fail and humans are much better - making subjective determination ‘oh, this looks more like a bus service payment gem sale vs RMT gold xfer sale’
But my point is any mass scale anti RMT system will have to be machine level, not human, and i for one am not going to risk doing any gem payments because any logs of me doing that will look very similar or identical to rmt sales
@Azanaa In the forums in Spanish, the CMs say that it is NOT an illegal practice, it is a way of providing a service to other less advanced characters
I mean the thing is define “transfer”
Who’s going to debate that you are moving a certain accessory/gem from one server to another to gear up your other character just like any other transaction on the auction?
it’s impossible to tell unless you are being obvious by sending large amounts of 10-20k.
Other than that…them trying to skim through hundreds of thousands of transaction on the auction house to find you specifically is a stretch…
You’ll be fine.
2 different subjects. The topic you linked is referring to bussing in general. There are no rules against bussing and in fact it is a very common practice for people gearing up alts. While it is not something that is officially sanctioned by the developers or AGS they have stated that it is absolutely permitted as it is a form of emergent gameplay.
@Azanaa is just saying that transferring gold to yourself using the AH is not allowed. There is nothing wrong with using the AH as a means of paying for bussing so long as there is another player is involved.
I think you may have misread this topic.
oh, right, I read CM and I thought he was referring to the same thing as in the forum post in Spanish
All good ![]()
You can use this to pay or recive payment from other players but if i remeber correctly its not alowed to transfer gold between 2 of your own rosters if you have multiple on different servers… but as a way of payment between players is 100% alowed and have been confirmed multiple times…
I’m sorry for the misunderstanding but I can assure you that this is not allowed in game, and if it is found, it could result in a ban. This answer was given to me from the CM Roxx directly.
Im sorry you are realy confusing right now… to be clear, if i provide a buss for someone then post a gem on ah are they alowed to buy it or not?
I was responding to someone else, sorry for the mix up! The answer I gave you earlier still stands.
Sorry it doesn’t seem to be clear what you are answering. I think there are two questions.
-
Are players allowed to create another roster on the same account and region, but a different server, and then transfer gold between that roster and their main roster? (This seems like it would clearly not be allowed, because of bypassing roster-level limits like Una weekly gold and Abyss/Legion raid gold).
-
Are players allowed to use the auction house to facilitate payments for bus runs with customers from other servers? (This seems like it would be allowed, because it’s a common practice that basically everyone does, and doesn’t do anything you can’t do with players on the same server via mail).
Are you able to clarify why exactly this is the case? Since in Korea as an example, they are allowed to have multiple accounts. What exactly differs in our version or region in general that this is against ToS?
So sorry for the confusion! The first question is what I was answering but I’ll answer both the best I can.
Players can create other rosters and be in different servers, but honestly, neither of these is an intended function of the Auction House so it is not allowed. It’s better to only transfer gold and other resources within your server.
