Now 2 days i unistall Lost Ark, not because honing chances, not because i don`t have materials to +, not beacause i spent 4-5 days in row to clear gate 2 valtan with MM and i get wipe all the time, not because game is full with toxic ppl etc, i stop playing because pheons system is to bad and nonsense… How is ok to find an accesories with 250 gold, want to buy it, and when you want to buy it, you see you need 25 pheons? what 25 pheons mean? mean 2.5k gold, because 95 crystals cost 1-1.1k gold and you need 250 crystals to buy 25 pheons, so, is fair to pay a tax of 1000% for one product wich cost 250 gold in AH? Sry for my bad english, but i think you got the point of what i wanna say.

just do your raids? buying BC for pheons is such a small portion of your weekly income it barely even matters. most of my BC goes towards card packs which outweighs pheons like 50:1

Pheons are a multi-part instrument:

  1. Alot of people say they are not for preventing flipping, but, they do MOSTLY actually do. and its not a by-product. The high sales tax is the way thats achieved. this is obvious. It doesnt prevent high value item flipping, it absolutely murders bread and butter flipping and this is by design. Yes, you could just have a massive sales tax to achieve this, but thats related tot he next point.
  2. As pointed out, blue crystal and gold conversion with royal crystal conversion is $$ for SG / AGS, this is straight forward, The point here is that every transaction is linked to real $$ from conversion and purchases. the sales tax on AH is thus a $$ conversion for AGS. It actually appears this works quite well … FOR THEM. Theiy’re not looking - strictly - to change economies they just want to make $$ from it.
  3. But then theres the historical issue of RMT’ers and account sellers in MMO’s and this is eponymously (and obviously linked) to market flipping. Market flippers in the first 2 years of any MMO get absurdly rich and flip accounts and currency for real world money… we’re talking thousands and tens of thousands in the first 2 and 3 years - especially - of an MMO.
  • Pheons do 2 things to hande that. They extract potential for margin from any private market flipper and put their real world $$ into AGS’s pocket (as above), AND they also kill the strength of private account sale and RMT by non-botters in the long run by REDUCING bread and butter flipping, without killing totally it for ordinary players, including for high value items (this is where max trade comes in). Its a reduction, not a deletion of flipping.
  • this is the part that people miss, its not about the ordinary player in this respect - its about the silent account flippers - who are only in the game for Real world $$ - who know they can milk thousands for account flipping from jacked / juiced up accounts.

You cant deny the ability of Pheons to put $$ in AGS/ SG’s pocket and to kill bred-and-butter flipping that is a key part (50%) of a flippers activity so he can then sell his account for real world $$.

I dont know if its the best way to do it, I have no idea, but they arent going to have private players making $$ in their game. Its their game and they’re gonna take that cut.

Pheons are at the moment the reason why i really think about qutitting the game.

That you need Pheons to give your Alt tradeable accessoires because you can not simply put it into the Kadar inventory is just a bad joke and says already that the system it not there to avoid flipping.

Because of Pheons it is no fun to make Alt´s in Lost Ark.

In other games i just make Alt´s to have a different play style sometimes, to keep the game fresh, and do buy with my gold from my Main what i need for my Alt.

Lost Ark does not care about that you did play it already for hundreds of hours. It tries his best to outbreak you.

Thanks to the Punika pass, i made my first Alt, it was okay to make her at least usefull with the Pheons i still had.
Now i tried to make my 2nd Alt and there is no chance to even get into a Oreha Group (hard) because you only have 2 engravings, but still, you need the hard mode to make a better armor to get a higher ilvl (and the gold).
I am stuck all because of the Pheons.

We could talk about to buy them if they would not be so overpriced (you need to pay 20€ to get the 100 Pheons package) and if 95 blue crystals would not cost 1 200 gold (~10 800 gold for 100)

Pheons are only real money and gold sinks, nothing more. Stuff you NEED in a game, if you do not has the best of luck to get at least okay accessoir´s to get your engravings, should be a reward for playing raids or such

Because the quality on gear system with miniscule % and stones aren’t already a gold sink.The fact so many are complaining about pheons is because gold is always in scarcity and the very reason this game had so many issues with RMT.

It’s also the reason why you see so many garbage alts with rainbow stats eveywhere.
It’s ridiculous that such an important resource is gated by someone actually having to spend irl money for it.
“ib4 you can trade in gold for crytals” Yea and someone has to buy the crystals you’re buying so indirectly or directly someone has to pay irl money for pheons to be in the system.

There needs to be an ingame way to get them that doesnt involve actual real life money.

100 pheons is 850 crystals.
Each legendary jewel is worth 15 pheons, each stone 5.
When you relic, each jewel is 25 pheons and stones are 9 pheons.
To do well in this game, you need several alters. I have 4 alters and the main one.
Now, if every 100 pheons costs 850 blue crystals and 3,500 blue crystals are worth 8,000 real crystals and 12,000 real crystals are worth €100… Anyone who tells me that this game is free to play makes me laugh in his face.
Even if you get a jewel that would be good for another of your characters, the only way to give it to them is by sending it by mail and it turns out that when you receive it, you have to pay the pheons too… I mean, it’s ridiculous and abusive.
I have all my alters without jewelry because I can’t spend €100 every week that is needed in pheons.
Pheons mess you up if you have multiple alters like this game forces you to play.
