This is true. Deathblade does get a once-per-match free kill if they don’t fuck it up or get focused mid-combo. I can’t really defend that.
Yes, deathblade is also pretty dang easy to use (not the easiest, but easy). But you’re trying to compare it to some of the much higher skill ceiling classes. A scary striker, while way harder to pull off, is way scarier than a deathblade. Wardancers can literally carry an entire team if played right, and are even scarier with a competent team who knows how to play around them.
Then there are classes like gunlancer. Maybe everyone forgets because no one plays them, but they are literally a brick wall that will 2 combo your ass. Yeah, it’s on a fat cooldown, but good luck killing them before it comes back up. Or slinger, who are practically impossible to catch and just shred your face every second you try to chase them and never have to go in and risk putting themselves in harm’s way.
I honestly picked DB because I like dual wielding classes, and this bitch tri-wields. It was aesthetics and playstyle for me. I had no idea it was going to be an easy mode class. I can’t wait until reaper comes out and I can switch to that and hopefully stop catching so much hate for just existing. The amount of toxicity towards blades in PvP general chat in-game is insane.
also same, it can be pretty faceroll in pvp but it’s not as easy to play in higher ranks and end game pve…surge can be difficult in pve. In pvp if you whiff skills, engages, or f up combos you can easily ruin your teams mmr. I still love the playstyle, i played sub rogue in wow and it’s the closest i can get to it
This. That’s another thing and I could say would qualify as our weakness. Our combo may be brutal, and fairly easy to pull off, but if we fuck it up at all that’s it. We are either dead or useless until 75% of our skill set comes back off of cooldown. We don’t have any in between. No half-useful, I’m still at least contributing something skills to use, no nothing. We have all in wreck yo shit, or we whiff and are useless for 20 seconds or die.
People want to talk about the low CD of upper slash, but if only they knew how many times I landed a defensive upper slash only to turn around and have to keep running because the rest of my combo is still on CD.
Also, yeah, surge is a love-hate thing in PvE. Some fights I feel like were made for surge. Other fights I feel like were made specifically to discourage people from rolling blade at all.
Every class in game functions this way man. Stop acting like deathblade is some end all be all of skill. It’s nothing like subtlety rogue wow okay, you can leave your rogue complex behind in wow because deathblade doesn’t hold a candle to the rogue class. Deathblade is absolutely a training wheels class protected from mistakes
Bro, you are actually just a salty pile of dogshit who is too lazy to learn the game so would rather complain and hope for nerfs.
There is a community of people way more hardcore than you or I, who have been playing for years, that have already put this argument to rest (if it ever existed) and it isn’t siding with your pathetic stance on the subject.
I’m done wasting my time arguing with you. Keep getting wrecked by blades. I’ll keep wrecking whiny bitches like you and having good fights with or losing to the people who man up and learn to play. Stay salty, my friend.
But the gunlancer is slow and immobile which makes it way easier to play around his superarmor while db is fast has high mobility and deals tons of damage. And db is easy to play too. It definetly needs a nerf!
Well Ive never had that hard of a problem against gunlancers as against deathblades. Im thankfully at a skill level where complete deathblade noobs get rekt because they can get baited really easy but a mid-skill db is just hell on earth to fight. Im mostly playing TE though.
laufie said DB is op because of a juggle combo between it’s identity which is true, literally nothing else about SA or any other random mechanic .
It’s also possible to 100 0 with awakening and ult if you do it a particular way in 1 knockup, which I agree is busted…but to balance that isn’t easy because even if you add a higher dr on the knock it won’t matter.
