Scrappers & animation lock

Any other scrappers feeling the (negative) effects of the long animation locks on scrapper? I often feel like an Artillerist but at melee range getting blown up in my face. Or I miss completely because the boss moved. At least on my Arty Im at range and feel a bit more safe and confident.

I understand most, or all classes have animation lock to some degree, but it feels more pronounced on scrapper. I also understand that you can dodge out of your animation but then you are punished with a dodge cooldown and the ability you were about to use is on CD (and is the resource gone as well? I cant remember). Feels so punishing and I feel like the kit has been outdated compared to these other DPS that are either a bit safer at range or have faster snappier animations. I never feel like dodging out of a demon clone on shadowhunter, for example.

I leveled as scrapper, shes 980 atm… I have an arty/shadow hunter/gunlancer/sorc waiting to be brought up. Considering just farming materials on scrapper and pushing them to a new main at this point in T2 before I go much further. Thoughts? Constructive only plz.

I also leveled a scrapper as my main and am feeling the exact same way animation locks are rough and the class feels almost cluncky because of it. Its shapped the way i look at dungeons as well where as i like playing solo but because of how punished you are when animation locked i feel forced to run in a group. I just hit 50 a few days ago and am considering a alternative class as my main because of it.

I know what you mean but latey i experienced a very good skill roster/combi - Just quoting it here:

Little update: Best dps/damage skill roster for pve

Requires shock build, has a very comfortable hitbox and so far i experienced the highest damage/dps with it. No charging, no holding, no combo and very simple to use. mostly short animation lock.

Rising Fist is replacable with Death Rattle if you like that more.

It´s way better with not so long animation locks and most skills hitting quick. It´s really the best damage combi for pve i experienced now except that maybe you liek to replace Rising Fist with Death Rattle. I just prefer Rising Fist^^

It gets a bit better in t3 with more stats and tajitsu gets secondary swiftness so you become a wee bit faster.

Then again this is literally the core gameplay of scrapper. Not to be mean about it but every single guide out there points this out at the very beginning. Scrapper is the de facto “slow” fighter class.

Not with my build :3 i feel kinda fast

But most guides aren´t that great anyway.

Even high lvl korean players said as much on all the sites / streams where they answered questions about classes.

Of course that doesn’t change the fact that if you go in blind you will be disappointed if you want fast gameplay but at least scrapper is a great overall class that devs have been quoted to using as a template for buffs / nerfs (since it’s such a well balanced class overall since forever)

Then they all must do something wrong when even i already find ways to play fast mostly…

What i am using currently is

Build: Scrapper #8314 - Skill Builds - Lost Ark Codex

image → Variable(used when needed)

This rotation, and all of those except maybe Rising Fist are super fast skills with high damage. So not sure what they are playing or if they even tried different stuff xd

This rotation also has a comfortable hitbox making dealing with masses of mobs at the same time easier.
