Server transfer exists in korea why not in the west?

Are all servers in the EUC region currently at max capacity or is there room for load balancing the current servers?

But adding more servers won’t solve anything, since there are multiple servers without que.

The current problem we have is not being able to transfer the progress, so even if you were able to add more servers, the current existing issues would still persist

Yep, I completely agree. We are waiting on a fix to come in for this issue.

It is still something that’s needed sooner or later and would currently at least help somewhat with the queues. There are some high population servers like Zinnervale or Asta where you have queues of 15-20k and there are low population servers like Mokoko that rarely have any queue at all. While the server transfer within a region would not fix the overloaded servers that result in matchmaking problems, it would still allow players to swap to other servers and thus spread the population more evenly between servers.

It would also allow for players who are stuck on a server where mainly a certain language is spoken, to leave that server.

You should summarize the current events and questions/sentences people have stated and then summarize the current plan you have on the fix. And then copy paste that to threads and people who are asking questions.

It will save everyone alot of time specifically for you the moderators while people look negatively about copy pasted replies, atleast they will complain about that and not about you not including information or its backwards logic.

Why won’t you lock the servers in the meantime? How are new players supposed to play with their friends when there are 8 hour queues anyway?

Your IT know how is not comparable because you have ZERO ideal how the systems are setup for the game. Is it possible, I am sure it is. But how long it will take to make it happen only they know. It could take months of work and testing before such a feature is ready for public use. By then the issue will have already fixed itself simply by launch populations dropping off like they always do.

I have worked both with hardcoded game servers before and game servers who make a good use of a database system, they all have a database of some sort or it wouldnt be able store and handle player information such as items etc as it is doing now.
All databases work fundamentally the same. So it have very little meaning if im specifically invested into how simlegate coded their system or not.

And no it doesnt take months of work to introduce a temporary thing like this. You need proper planning, testing and the trait for it. The testing can be done locally by their team and basically do a shadow copy of the running database and do their troubleshooting there.

Also while the population will drop, we are so far 2 weeks into the launch with the game keeping the exactly same stable player count. Most MMO’s drop a majority of their population after the first week. While it will drop, it’s going to be pretty minimal.

At least they can give us the possibility to move to beatrice/thaemine etc etc lowering the queues of major servers by ALOT.

Server transfer in the same region is fucking easy, even market is shared

Any other versions of this game (KR/JP/RU) only “designed” for 1 specific region (without the use of VPN of course)
While this “Western” release consist of 4 regions
(NA / EU / LATAM and the 2nd rate citizen OCE)
This version is MUCH MUCH bigger than any other versions combined. So region transfer (Must) be implemented along with OCE server. THANKS!

Cannot see, why this is not a viable option. Right now you run maintenance several days a week. At least a transfer from some servers with very high load to lower population ones in EUC would be a benefit. So why is this not on the table? Not willing to invest the money to implement this?

So will it be developed for future use? Will it one day have cross region functionality or are we just going to be all MAYBE right now?

I don’t think we’ll get a confirmation until later / only once SMG signs off.

And who knows when that’ll be. And if it even ever happens. The uncertainty is what is making people not WANT to go EUW or even go to lower pop servers. It’s just not very reassuring.

We are pushing for server transfers, but I don’t have a set answer to share one way or another right now. For region functionality, I’m also not familiar enough with the game backend to know if this is something that can’t be implemented. We are investigating and exhausting all options, but haven’t reached conclusions we are able to share yet.

In the very least, you could advise the team to close new character creation for EUC. Not sure why this was re-enabled.

Go back and look at the forums on the day they closed them down. It was hundreds of posts of wtf amazon I cant play with my friends.

They cant make everyone happy they always gonna piss someone off. Congrats this time its your turn.

Their goal is to direct people onto the new servers. In general, people don’t want to play on less busy servers. New people log in past mid night and its server choosing time, they see EUC as “Busy” but they get straight in because it’s 1am. “perfect! found myself a server” and then the problem is 1 person worse.
People aren’t playing with their friends while having to wait 8 hours to queue in anyway, so that argument is mute at this point.
They are going to see far more negative reviews and words about 8 hours queues then they are about “Can’t play with friend”.

How will they play with their friends when you have to wait the entire day to enter queue? It is clear what must be done.

And when the eventual population dies down and there’s little population left in EUW, what will those people do? They have made no assurance of region transfers being possible so what then?
