To be fair you could say that about anything.
It’s just a book who cares how it ends, it’s just a car who cares if it got scratched. It’s just a foot you can hop.
In the end this is how many people spend their free time, have invested money in (via skins, gold, etc) and feel as though they are getting shafted. Of course it doesn’t really matter in the grand scheme of things, it is just a video game afterall.
But in the short term, both for the player and AGS/SG this is a publicity hit that just piles on top of a number of other big issues happening right now. It isn’t insignificant to AGS/SG since it’s a potential profit loss and it isn’t insignificant to the players as they just get slapped down harder by something new and are more willing to go find another game to play (which hurts all of us as player numbers continue to bleed)
So sure, it is just a game, but there are things at stake overall that do matter, both from a company and player perspective.

It’s actually interesting how many folks from our discord got talked into playing WoW, some for the very first time.

AGS/SG couldn’t, after 5 hours figure out how to remove the Pheon’s without breaking the servers so instead they are letting us keep them as a gesture of good faith.
