Unable to complete this section of the Illusion Bamboo Island quest because taking picture of Shandi in his true form always come back as a failure. Took picture of all the Shandi Phantoms and still nothing.
Careful that you’re using the focus item the correct way. It’s a skill action and you must release it at the right time for the picture to be taken. Fake Shandis should fall over. The “Fail” message you’re getting means the item isn’t being used.

You also need to have your cursor over shandi to “target” where to take the picture

what is the correct process. i press Q put the curser on Shandi. Then press Q again. I see the picture sight followed by the word rail. I have tried each one of the Shandi with silver hair, head piece, yellow sash and brown coat. Is there something else that makes them different. Or is this quest just broken and impossible to complete.
I just completed it, you have to let go of the Q while its in the skill range.
