I actually don’t mind spending a lot on skins the disappointing part is that we don’t even have any nice ones for me to whale on nor am I even expecting AGS to release the majority of the good ones unfortunately, I mean I would even be the kind of person to buy the $100 Legendary Skin Loot Box just for a ‘chance’ of getting one although if that ever does come to our region it’ll probably be a whole lot cheaper than in KR or they’ll implement them some other way who knows.

The Argos hone rush probably created a TON of money for AGS. Now thats its died down. Valtan hone rush is next. skin will probably only make a fraction of that.

No relevant game charges 25e for their WORST SELLING SKIN. Look at League, there are skins in all price-ranges and every champion has dozen of skins. Whoever paid 25e for omen which is now worth like 3k gold got scammed lmao

Skin prices in games have always been a joke. But you can buy them with in game gold if you don’t want to spend money.

I’ve typically avoided F2P games like the plague… absolutely despite its business model, sucking it up with LA due to a couple of friends playing it from WoW. Can’t imagine meself being here in the long term though.

Skins are the only thing I actually will buy from a F2P game.

They will never get me to pay for progression.

I’ve probably dropped $4,000 on Path of Exile just in skins. Those ones are a bit better though because they’re modular and any character can use them. Then again they’re double the price. Hell, giving out free skins from league challenges is part of how they keep continued interest.

This type of method keeps a F2P model more honest. Allowing players to buy Skins without cash or without a limited window of challenge methods is going to make the developer seek other means of getting money which isn’t good for anyone involved.

wait so are you complaining the fact they did put the price that they wanted in their product?damm i guess welcome to capitalism bro

You can pay more than $20 for a single mount skin in GW2. Some outfits cost around $10 each. GW2 is also B2P for base game and expansions.

im okey with high price skins if me and my friends can enjoy the FULL GAME and all content patches for free

considering they might just release 1 or 2 skins a month… you have the option to just not buy the skin and save up for the next one or buy the skin with gold in the player market.

You free to play player really need to realize that there are people spending money so you as a F2P can play the game for free.

Which also has the reverse that if there weren’t F2P you wouldn’t have anyone to show off your pixels to.

Now if only we could get more than 1 skin every couple of months

This. Cosmetic skins should not be this. Combat skins, sure, but never cosmetic.

Hey at least you are not paying almost 200 bucks of your local currency

Wrong. f2ps don’t care about your skin - they ascribe it no value. You are showing off to other show-offs.

Another issue i have with skins in this gane is that the small selection. Many players buy skins to stand apart from each other or to flex. However, if we only get 1 skin a month then every month we have players that prerty much look the same with the exception being that people buy skins based on the virtue points they need.

…that makes sense to show off the skin to everyone else wearing it

Right.
One of the reasons Path of Exile has maintained a fair and profitable F2P model for 8 years solely through skins is their exclusivity. I’m not saying every skin option should be limited to cash but that is a thing and probably the smarter choice. In addition to this they’re time limited.

If you bought a skin from 5 years ago. Only a person who was playing 5 years ago who also bought that skin would have it. Not to mention since the skins are modular. Your mix of Helm/Chest/Gloves/Boots/Wings/Character Effect/Weapon Skin/Weapon Effect might be different than the way the other player decided to blend their skin.

You can even take those popular skins and throw your own twist on it. It’s highly effective.
