Literally one day ago and the answer is still not very clear and the answer to why its taken so long is also not clear. You would think FOMO players buying skins would be of the utmost importance, but there’s a reason for the delay. And we will see it when they are out.

This was a thread I was interacting yesterday which is why I had the link. But I read previously the same message refarding why they haven’t pushed more skins yet.
And what’s not clear since the store issue has been going since the start with crystaline aura missing, people claiming packages or items twice.
You wanna risk on having people be able to get duplicates and just market the stuff?
When they arrive and they look like a new world character skin, that is when we should talk how they are delaying releases censoring skins, before that why bother so much theory crafting a bunch of stuff when there is a very truthful issue on going.
Like I am also in line waiting for new skins. I even got Alar on my deadeye, the red sorceress one and bought the gold and pheons for Lawmaker A on the paladin. I for sure want more skins but knowing how forum community goes, have the duplication bug and you will see many more “New world 2.0” threads
I agree, with current state of cash shop, meaning various bugs, it is unwise to “release” skins now.
However I do think that we will get some of them, probably not censored, to lower the heat and then they will “strike”. At least, it what I would do if I wanted to push censorship.
It shouldn’t be so difficult. Just choose some skins that from the start didn’t require censorship according to AGS policy.
This is a hindsighted response. The reason the skins weren’t on the store in beta to now is because they were taken DOWN for audit. We will see what the audited results are when they re-release them.
Yeah probably. It doesn’t hurt to still bring up their actual history and current actions to theorize a possible reason. There are NPCs that have these outfits, but these are NPCs that are in a nightclub or the beach or in a setting that AGS determines that you wear these outfits in. They might not deem it acceptable for us to be fighting in these outfits, which would definitely be puritanical overreach.
The good news is that the core coding is from Smilegate…the only duplication issues came from literally the only code contribution AGS supplies with their founder’s pack distribution.
I do hope they don’t end up modifying the skins in any way. I dislike it when the original author’s vision is altered for other releases to appeal to biases. Most of the censoring already in the game that I’ve seen side by side comparisons of look awful imo as AGS seems to be trying to find a middle ground to appeal to both sides of the issue and it just doesn’t work.
That said, I can’t wait for some of the cool skins I’ve seen on the Korean side to be released. My Scrapper’s only shop option being a stupid looking knight outfit is awful.
And the distribution of the Founder packs uses the store claiming service done by Smilegate which should have been a filter for the dupe.
There is also an issue of claiming several times rewards which led to the login change in EUW. All this uses the core services done by Smilegate. Of course no code is perfect but we don’t know to what extent Amazon can touch Smilegate’s property since they are just a publisher.
I at least have no idea how deep they can get into it if they are allowed to which is also another possibility.
And yeah, I had no idea nor read anywhere for that reason to be audited but AGS has also pointed they were working in diversity but the game was M Rated and could be not for everyone. Or that’s what that one link you posted up there.
Yet still we still don’t know what their decision will be because as much as the topic is brought to, because it’s a common topic, we will need to wait. Roxx has mentioned only the starting outfits would be altered and the rest would not.
Plus one thing that might ease your mind. While is not the best ‘sexist’ example to put a word on what people complains about wanting or not, Sorceress skin doing any action is literal underwear flashing. If they wanted to censor stuff, they could have done it already from the start. My complain here is you cannot dye this set lol
That would be fine if it was true. But in game gear has been altered. So they lied. That leads to people thinking they will lie again.

Like, I can say that AGS translation so bad that it literally calls people “subjects”. Only reason why I don’t do it, because I haven’t save screenshot and too lazy to go back at the story and screenshot the proof. But there you have someone who just speaks.
One more point, from now. if proof is that AGS said something - worth nothing. And it is AGS own doings.

No its different. The founders packs are hardcoded differently than claiming stuff through the item shop.
This affected parts of the founder’s pack.
It went over everything.
While Lost Ark has millions of active players around the world, there may be some content in game that is unexpected for some Western audiences. Sometimes this can include cultural references, imagery, or nuances that are unfamiliar to us. While our goal is to preserve the authenticity of the original game, we also feel localization updates can be made to make the game feel more approachable and representative of our Western players.
This might be glossed over at first, but can easily be used as a guide for outfit audit. “Cultural imagery and nuances that are unfamiliar to us” is very broad and definitely covers arbitrary subjective justification to censor things.

We are playing such an odd bastardized version of lost ark when it comes to literally everything the game is, the story/characters/armor/class names/character names/questing experience/etc. It’s crazy how much this game was changed for our part of the world. Silly even.

Honestly, this is going to sound really bad but….
I’ve been waiting for this game to come out in MA for YEARS…because I saw the Korean skins and models and was extremely excited about them.
Since the game has come out, I don’t even find it that fun… lol… but I would still spend a TON of money if they actually released pretty cute Korean skins that weren’t censored. Because that to me would give me plenty of incentive to play and feel like my character is pretty.
I find AGS withholding Korean skins and altering them to censor body parts showing UNBELIEVABLY offensive.
Like I’m outraged by it —what makes me even more mad about it, is that AGS won’t say a single word about it.
I’ve messaged them one 5 different Twitter accounts trying to get a reason WHY and they are radio silent.

These threads don’t farm forum likes. History has shown that these threads get contrarians, pro-censorship shills, forum bans and close outs. It’s a genuine gripe and there’s very little benefit in engaging in it.

If you’re complaining over the added skins to the game that are less revealing and calling it censorship then you clearly followed enough to see Roxx say that they aren’t censoring anything just adding more options, which is exactly what they did. If you’re still whining over it then you’re either ignoring it willfully to start up drama and farm forum points or you’re beyond reason. There’s a search function, a twitter, a reddit, and a community discord you can utilize if you were truly curious.

They changed in-game armors. Not just starters. You can’t get the old ones in the game. So it was a false retort. So people are worried what more is going to happen. Legit concerns. Sorry if you’re uninformed.
