So about the last patch

“The conditions for activating forced Super Armor in PvP have been relaxed. Previously, forced Super Armor was activated if an additional hit or more is received after 4s of damage. This requirement has been reduced to 3s.”

Whoever decided this is a good change without adding class or stat balance into the game has no idea what they were doing, this single change makes multiple classes unplayable in pvp due to their combos relying on the 4 second timer

Here is an example I replicated today showing this in effect:

For people that do not understand what just happened, artillerist as a class has only access to two (very predictable) combos, both of which require a melee stun ability to hit. This stun lasts for 2 seconds which leaves the player less than a second to to initiate the catch, regardless if artillerist or a teammate initiates a catch, which is a complete joke. In this video you can see the shadowhunter being knocked down instead of knocked up, which allows him to roll away and avoid the whole combo.

This is an enormous nerf to classes like gunslinger, deadeye, arcana and especially artillerist. while the, which I assume, are the problematic classes when it comes to long combo cc chains like striker and blade are unaffected by this change as they do not use staggers and hard ccs in their main combos (they use pushes instead, which are unaffected by this change)

Sure, I can adapt, I can pick 250 expertise instead of 250 domination, but then im losing 30% of my damage output just to counteract a nerf to an already underperforming class.

What was the point of this change?

Balance.

Played on RU recently, they have a better PvP state than us, on many points, this change is part of it.

Adapt, everything is about this in PvP.

my point is, you cannot adapt on artillerist, the only playstyle left is a yolo spam everything hope something hits, or going expertise and losing damage, and there is no reason to nerf a class like artillerist which is one of the weakest classes when it comes to high mmr games

Your “artillerist needs buffs” example video is one-comboing someone from 60% over 5 seconds of stun…

Am I in a troll thread…

I understand what you mean, adaptation can be hard, but it’s never impossible.

I played Wardancer when the game started (on other versions), it had many super armor, a good combo, when you knock someone down, you could burst him, you had a good defence, now, it’s also one of the worst classes for many.

You’ll find something, don’t worry

this is a normal game, the enemies have no idea what they are doing, artillerist is a noob stomper, the shadowhunter had time to roll away from the combo (but did not), im arguing for the class being bad at high mmr games, not normal matchmaking with supreme 3 guys

It is to make pvp more forgiving and allow better entry for newer players. You can still do your combo if they don’t have a roll so I don’t see an issue. Maybe just hold your combo until they used up their roll, which allows for smarter plays and more counterplay to the previous chain combo meta

you will almost never find a lonely enemy that has used up the roll unless the other 2 guys are dead, rolls aren’t something people just waste to get up faster into the teamfight, if the enemy knows they are up against an artillerist, they would rather take a few extra hits from other classes just to be sure they can roll away from a potentially bigger threat

also balancing the game around the lower ranks and new players is a horrible idea, if anything, they should fix the matchmaking so that master players aren’t matched up with bronz players all the time, because as it looks like now, season 2 will consist of 5 classes dominating the top 200

No.

Absolutly no.

You don’t balance a PvP game with high rank as a basis, it’s not playable for the new players if you do that, and there is frustration for everyone.

Yeah, but what’s worst is that if the bronze win, then he win as if he was against another bronze, and the diamond lose nothing more.

Deserved for Artillerist

Best Thing to do is Look up a Tier list and Play the best one. Done

yeah ok dude, you clearly do not play ranked and have no idea what you are talking about

Oh ? You’re saying in ranked, when a Bronze win against a Dia, the bronze doesnt win 16, and the Dia doesnt lose 16 ?

You’re QQing because you won’t be able to get anyone easy after hitting a single spell, and you’re crying, you’re crying as if you were deserving your rank, and play well enough to have the right to complain.

But, hey, you’re the only one that opened a post to complain about this, maybe you should see what’s wrong.
