AGS really need to sit down with Smilegate if that is the case that you guys are receiving the patch late. Because it really make AGS look incompetent when the reality of thing might not be true. AGS is eating a lot of flame because of that. @Roxx this is not good as business practice if AGS keep receiving the flames because how late you guys receive the information from SGR.
In a business partnership there are acceptable thing and sometime AGS need to stay firm because you are losing lot of goodwill and the thing is this time might not be even AGS fault. Not good to get screw over constantly like that in a partnership.
It doesnt matter whoâs fault it is. Both companies are large enough and wealthy enough to be professionals. This type of service does not fly in companies that arenât gaming studios with the same capital. Youâre missing the entire point, they have complete amateurs running things obviously.
Wouldnât it of made sense to just roll back and perform a normal reset? That way players could play all day while the âbugsâ are fixed? And then of course patch tonight or tomorrow for the original 4 hours? This seems like poor project management, are you in need of a Project Manager to organize and make these decisions? If so, where do I apply? this is embarrassing and I am starting to feel bad for you as youâre obviously just the messenger, I have over 10 years of Computer devops management and computer security management, I will gladly take time away from my business to get a structure in place so this reoccurring theme stops. Itâs affecting mass amount of loyal customers of yours which will in turn ruin the game for the rest when they quit.
Yes, poor project management, but youâre talking to the wrong person. Itâs not AGS, itâs Smilegate.
Thatâs why all the complaining on this forum does nothing because 99% of the issues with this game is with Smilegate and they clearly donât care because they can just scapegoat AGS.
its currently 14:00 where the AGS studios are located, so at minimum they should be in office for at least another 3-4 hours. Down time would be ending around normal working hours ending. But with an issue like this people would 100% still be in office and unlikely just leaving immediately at their 8 hour point.
And whose fault is it that AGS gets the patches so late that they only have like a few hours to test? BTW this isnât the first time, and Roxx has hinted that they only got the patches very late and did not have time to test in previous instances.
The only way ill be happy with this reset is if it somehow included the balance patch too⌠otherwise its just been a complete disaster of a useless patch without the qol/balance patch we need before clown. Still 0 communication on when its trying to be worked in.
No, AGS can delay deployment due to SG not providing the patch within time. Also, arenât we getting patches already deployed in korea? They should be available to have whenever AGS want. But there needs to be a checklist which includes a certain amount of testing, at minimum testing that the patch will deploy and you can log on.
it doesnât matter who it is after 7 months, it needs to change. And itâs both companies, if amazon is going to allow SG to basically cuck them with every content update thatâs on them.
Funny you mentioned Korea because the same kind of shitshow happens in KR because SG releases patches without warning and new features on the live build without much testing. KR Lost Ark is quite buggy too. And AGS certainly does not control any bit of KR Lost Ark.
As to your point, I wouldnât be surprised if Smilegate pressured AGS to release the new content even if itâs not ready.
Thatâs bs, because in other regions like russia or japan somehow manages to have better communication and pacing of content. Maybe you are right, and Smilegate just really hates the western version.
Again, itâs not new. It has been released in korea already for an extended amount of time, I believe. But regardless, AGS can always delay patch day for one day. The issues that require a restart every week usually arenât going to happen if restart is delayed by 1 day, and if the issues are one day away from happening, we would see them pop up every so often because its not a set time scale. I believe the issues being mentioned that require restart are regarding degradation which would cause slight performance issues that would gradually get worse and memory overflowing, hence the restart to clear. Like I said I have over 10 years of exp in this exact field
