Are auction houses per region? Per server? One auction house for east and one for west or is it just a single auction house for all of NA/EU. I don’t think they have said anything about this, have they?
Thanks so much for this Link. It helps make the process of choosing so much easier.
Agreed! Who you want to play with, and the timezone they are in, IS probably the biggest factor. Personally, I intend to play with a guild from another game (that is switching over to LA). I will try to persuade them to go West Coast as that has the best ping for me. But, in the end, I have no control over the matter.
it has been mentioned so often in x threads… AH is region wide. So NAE / NAW / EU / SA each have one AH.
West coast is still going to be massive! Can’t wait to jump in with all the people there x3 woot!
A shared AH would be awesome though imo, and maybe cross data centre raids / PvP.
Would be some serious fun xD
Playing LA with 2 digits latency would be like having a “wet dream” for most OCE + Sea players. Most of us will end up with 3 digits latency even with VPN help. My average ping during beta was around 200-250ms playing NA West ( East was around 300ms) now that is a disadvantage when doing serious PVP content.
I am not NA players so I am not sure how the latency will affect NA West from choosing to connect to the East. But it definitely not as bad as us OCE players
Every time I check my ping to the AGS East server it’s about 90-97 not 70. I too live in Washington state. But my ping to us west is 20-25. But maybe a ping just under 100 is fine for lost ark.
How do you do this? What’s the IP?
Just run that, it runs pings to all of amazon’s server centers.
Oh…You mean pinging to Amazon services. That’s not necessarily reflective of what your ping to the game server will be. I ping 35 here to US east but had a ping of 90 to the NewWorld server I played on so…not the same.
best compared to what? population? sure. there is at least twice the population of people living there than in the west but that doesn’t change from game to game, only if the game is good or not affects the amount playing. Ping? no. I dont know where all this doomsaying came from but it is quite amusing. The east having more players is like finding a banana in a grocery store, it is basically expected and normal.
I have seen people comparing it to new world E and W servers which is amusing because of how sketchy it has been received by players.
Im so sad because I was hoping it would be like albion where its just one mega server for NA. I played in NA East for New World and have my whole guild hopping over to lost ark soon, but also playing from LA where my hometown friends want to play along with OCE friends from past games. It’s such a hard decision bc I wanted my entire group to meet and play with each other. So excited for this game though!
is it possible to cross server join or invite between West and east servers?
So is that mean you will be playing to NA West? Since majority of OCE will choose NA West due to ping…
West will be still be very packed, especially without OCE region, in fact I doubt they’ll leave it at 3 servers, they’ll have to add 1 or 2 more for sure.
thats a decision ill have to figure out in time seeing where all my groups are going or if i could convince them to play in west. i would love to be part of NA West though for my ping and pvp to my full potential. we’ll just have to see!
If you look at new world server statistics NA east has 3-4x more active players at any given time than NA West servers. One would assume that ratio would hold true for Lost Ark as well
NW is a dying MMORPG… When LA release it will get worse… not dead but required ‘special IV line for infusion’ to survive… the point is using NW as example is not too accurate
It has no relevance to the point I was making, which was about population ratios between east and west.
How would a dying game represent hype game?
Besides NA East will get 6 servers to choose from at launch whereas NA West only limited to 3 servers (one or 2 of the server will be populated by OCE players)
