But there are people kind of passively reading the forums who might not be giving a ton of thought to it, and if all they see is said bullshit that’ll be the impression they leave with because that’s just how human brains work by default: we read headlines and remember the words without remembering that it was a headline instead of a verified, reliable resource. By firmly disproving your idiotic claims I am giving those people a correct voice to see, and even though they’re not thinking deeply on the subject it’s enough for them to be like “Oh yeah that’s true, this is bullshit.” People actively making posts basically never change their minds, but the people reading those posts often have unmade minds, and that’s the target audience.
But you? There’s no helping you because this is basically how your brain works. You’re just fundamentally terrible at recognizing patterns and properly categorizing reality. It’s messy and emotional and you have no rigor to how you think. And when that’s how you think it snowballs, because one bad premise seeps in and now that’s part of how you judge the next one, so the next thing you get wrong you might get even more wrong, and so on and so forth.
