yes, they enter open guild. my guild is open since it’s a dead guild anyway, i’m automatically promoted to GM because all the officer, deputy and even the original gm is stop playing for more than 10 days.
so i think, oh heck, why not open the guild so more member can easily enter… BIG MISTAKE !!! suddenly new guild member is joining with knyxalaasdjkhaks, adadasdasdadada, ililiILILILilililili names or something, and all berzerker. lol
i keep kicking them out hoping a real person can enter and join the guild, but nooooo, bots keeps entering daily. strangely some of them contribute with silver and/or research lol. so i kinda confused too now, should i keep kicking them, or letting them contribute to the guild. lol
why don’t they finally develop a system that makes the bots 100% superfluous. you have no idea how stupid the starting areas are. an empty game full of bots they somehow develop a sythem , Limits . no matter what . only that with the bots has to stop completely. and if the trade is only through NPCs, please do something about the bots…
I think the only way to truly get rid of the bots would be pulling a Maplestory, and completely remove player-trading and the currency exchange from the game.
As long as people can buy gold for a fraction of the price, and buy almost anything in the game with it, this will never stop!
They are literally the cheaper alternative to the very own monetization of Lost Ark!
You say “don’t cripple legit gamers” but offer a solution (which might work for you and some others) which is only convenient for those who already have Amazon Prime. It doesn’t mean everyone wants Amazon Prime.
So your solution also “cripple legit gamers” who don’t want Amazon Prime (for whatever the reason it might be)
well it’s pretty simple since you already used steam trusted account features, my question is why you left out the only way bots still have to sell, which is the market board. make it so that only trusted accounts can use the market board and 99% of bots disappear
Those bots just transfer their drops and gold to dedicated accounts, and it goes from there.
Also, they ARE trusted!
They most likely have set up a ton of steam accounts on the last update in March, and 30 days later, basically last week, boom, there is the bot invasion!
That steam trust thing was only a minor roadblock for the Bot Army.
It also would mean that the game is not free anymore.
tbh im surprised it took them so long, knowing how far mmo bots have come in the past 15 years. in most games their patterns are usually indistinguishable from real players. they move normally, jump, have advanced attack patterns and do what a normal player would do. This was possible 10 Years ago already. With AI i can only imagine how far this could go or maybe even already gone.
While obviously automated solutions are needed, in the interim, why is there not more active support personnel in game? Some of these bots have clearly been going for weeks at least. Stricter punishment of gold buyers is also necessary.
you don’t understand how it work, untrusted accounts can’t trade and send mails, the way they move/sell golds is with the market board. A trusted account put a piece of gear on the market board and the untrusted account buy it, that why for example you saw blue crystal going up 200g in one day 2 weeks ago, because bots needs pheons to buy stuff. making that only trusted accounts can use the market board will massively strike the gold sellers/bots. ofc there will be bots/goldsellers with trusted accounts, these are made mostly with stolen accounts and credit cards like any other game where you need to pay to play but this measure would improve the situation tremendously.
You could also do what the FBI do with hackers. Hire a very good bot farmer and get them to work for SG/AG. Pay them a salary to help SG/AG identify weaknesses in the code your game and to develope a system to combat other bot developers. I suspect some of these bot farmers are extremely good at what they do, to the point you wonder if they have that skill why not go work for a proper IT company. It’s sad to see so many bots in game but on the other side you have to admire their ability to adapt, design and inflitrate a system. Such a waste of talent that could be put to better use.
This maybe an old thread but I wanted to chime in that no one else is.
I am legit serious on this, Is having a Sub based game “Cripple legit gamers”? What does that say to Final Fantasy 14, World of Warcraft, DC Universe Online? Are they crippling Legit players?
Square at least knows how to handle bots in there games and its behind two payment walls, Buying the FF14 Game then having to subscribe to play.
Blizzard does the same. The only one that lets you play somewhat free is DC Universe with some moderate restrictions but requires a Sub to lift them.
These games don’t cripple anyone it just limits access to the game, Guild Wars 2 handles F2P Account extremely well and its a Buy to play game with no Sub Fees. Star Trek Online and Star Wars the old republic also are doing vary well too.
I rather have loot boxes in games over bots, I rather have restrictions over bots, I rather have subs to access the game over bots. You cannot have your cake and eat it too, It’s a lesser of two evils.
I rather have whales than bots. Lesser of two evils.
You can’t have your cake and eat it too. (you can’t enjoy both of two desirable but mutually exclusive alternatives.)
