world of warcraft is also free to play game by your logic, because you can literally play it for free. Maybe you should look at the definitions.
okay let me try again, but this time slowly.
If you are using the market you are playing the game.
You can’t use market if you don’t pay real money.
That means you can’t play the game for free, however you can play the portion of the game for free.
It is essentially a free trial game.
Can you comprehend that? Do you understand? Are you alright?
Do I have to connect the dots with something easier for you to understand?
What a day dude, what a day.
In NaW Enviska, theres also a ton of bots in punika honing and getting una’s gold. also see some around arthetine/shushire/vern probably doing the story
Free to play means literally this:

Basic ACCESS to a game granted without spending money.
Access means this:

It just mean entering the game, nothing else.
Then you get the “while more advanced features must be paid for”
That could be AH, Raids, Skins, Power passes, etc, etc, etc.
If you can’t comprehend this then im sorry for you, makes me sad seeing people like you that refuses to see simple logic
so yeah, world of warcraft is free to play by that logic, you can enter world of warcraft with no problem, every demo/free trial game is free to play by your logic
Can you not see yourself?
There is a reason why they called “FREE trial”.
Want to know the definition of that?

In order to really play the game you have to pay.
They give you a FREE trial so you can see if you will buy the game or not.
The fact that you refuse to acknowledge definitions just to fit your narrative is hilarious.
but you can’t experience lost ark in full if you don’t pay, so it’s essentially a free trial, I thought you were annoying but you are just funny ![]()
You can literally progress and get to end game max ilvl without using the AH, that is possible.
Im not debating if its hard or not.
So in theory you don’t have to spend a single dollar into the game.
Unlike WOW or FF14 you literally CANT progress further even if you spend 10000000 hours in the demo/free trial, thats the difference that you refuse to acknowledge.
but your definition was different, you just said that free to play means you can only enter the game, if you want anything else you have to pay?
your own words, making no sense, you can play world of warcraft and final fantasy, I am not talking about how much you can progress into the game.
so what is it now, you contradicted yourself like 5 times now?

This… isn’t how it works… at all
You can 100% experience all content in the game as free to play, because free to play players are just like vegans
You won’t know they are but don’t worry, they’ll tell you soon enough (can’t believe I have to say this is a joke just in case)
The thing is you have to invest a lot of time to make up for the lack of paying for anything
Blue Crystals are purchased with gold as well, so you’ll need time to earn those to purchase those pheons
Skins can be bought off the AH, so while technically someone has to spend real currency for it, that someone will never be you, same with Blue Crystals
So your choices are time vs. money
Invest more time and don’t pay, or invest your money and save your time
Hell, even in KR you could be free to play and get yourself an Esther weapon
You just gotta invest a lot of time and resources to do so, and I mean a lot
No amount of “laughing while crying” emojis, running around in circles and cherry picking quotes that people have said will make you right on this man
you can’t use market and trade, you have to pay for that (source: amazon live chat support on March 30.). I agree with everything else.
So I just looked up how it works and to get trusted status on your Steam account it has to be in good standing and you had to have spent money on games on your account
So in a very, very farfetched way, technically you “have to pay money”
However let’s rephrase it in a “you had to have paid money on a product that’s not related to Lost Ark”
That is not the same as calling Lost Ark a “free trial” game, as someone who wants to play with Trusted Status already established (by spending money on other Steam purchases) will still have full access to all content because of said status
Because technically if someone is making a brand new Steam account just to play Lost Ark with no other games purchased at all
Then they will hit that Trusted status wall
However
I would love to know how many people have done that specifically
Besides the hundreds of thousands of bot players
Also too I’m shouting out @Boinkboink because I believe they’re the one who’s doing the Ironman Don’t Use the AH character, proof that you don’t need to use the AH to make a character playable
outdated, I tried to provide them numerous screenshots from their own support page yesterday in live chat about it, everything is outdated.
you can play lost ark for free and it’s advertised as free to play, but you can’t experience the basic portion of the game (market) so for me it is essentially like free trial. There are thousands of players just on forums that have issues with trusted status, who knows how many never make it to forums.
There are 2 scenarios regarding bots:
- bots are paying 10$ to get trusted so they can do RMT
- vast majority of bots use stolen or other form of the account that is already trusted and this system is not helping to combat bots at all.
In any way, this hurts new players. I have been tracking posts about this specific issue for 2 months, people start playing the game because it’s free, then they try to sell item to get gold, they realize they have to be trusted, they go on forums to get info but they get lied to, they either quit or wait for months and then quit, meanwhile the game is full of bots.
btw I am also 1445 without using AH and with hundreds of thousands materials and 2500 great honor leap stones so it’s not impossible, but it’s very unhealthy if you want to get new players.
it is also very difficult to get a good enough 4x3 build let alone a 5x3 build while restricted in the auction house; I can’t remember the last time a decent accessory dropped for me
its not a problem for me, as a spender, but I do feel for the ones who cannot take advantage of the marketplace.
personally, before this event, I was ~1435 and I had one level 3 engraving and few level 1 engravings, so people wouldn’t even take me in argos, it’s nearly impossible to have good engravings without market if you don’t play 6 characters grinding every day.
I got one good stone in 150 hours of playing, and it was last week
I play without paying for p2p or p2w no multiple character, no arkpass, just my Bronze pack and 50 bucks that I’m trying to figure out what to buy.
I doubt I can play totally “ironman” without buying a thing in the in-game marketplace. I’m still reliant on other stuff like fusion mats etc.
Honestly glad to know how it works then
It’s still impressive that you’re doing it
However this brings up the fact that I do agree that Trusted Status shouldn’t be the only option to have access to certain aspects of the game
I wish 2FA would be used but oh well, people buying third party gold is the reason we can never have nice things it seems
This man has done it, F2P, iron man style, no auction house at all and has documented it all for our enjoyment. (I do enjoy the series, no sponsorship)
It looks like he started 6 months ago, isn’t a crazy hardcore grinder, and has already cleared g6.
I am f2p no market, got to 1445 in less than 2 months, playing only 1 character, it’s really not that hard, especially if you get lucky with engravings (accessories).
Now that we can choose 4x3 engravings from the event it’s really easy.
Also I got tons of mats but I am too lazy to farm gold ![]()
I don’t really see bots on my server. And from launch until now, nothing has changed in terms of content. All are done quickly, there is no problem finding parties, so honestly the numbers don’t matter. Who should be worried would be Amazon, if they are not, it is because the money they are receiving is within the expected range. So just relax and enjoy the game, let the company work for the company.
