Stop bashing the people who are subsidizing your gameplay.
- its a game you have no rights in.
- Youre not fighting for anyones rights, youre arguing about something YOU disagree with. Others Dont.
- There needs to be some form of subsidy to make the game viable.
- Its hardly P2W…
Very accurate rendition. I think the issue people miss is this game sets up it’s hard stuff so that you need to be able to PLAY. GS is not the EZ win in this game like it is in many other games. you can fork over tons of real world cash, and still wipe in raids. Then your kicked from your raid team because you suck, and your money now is a very fancy gear set.
The only benefit in whaling right now is bragging rights in town, which no one is going to care since we all know how easy it is to just get gear in the game. The only whales who would actually benefit from this are the ones that can really play the end game, and they already know how easy it is to get gear in the game, so they’d probably just skip the store and grind the extra hours to get the gear.
Honestly, I like watch over mobile games generation. So amusing.
All you want is easy way, you don’t want to pay anything, and you want it now. It doesn’t make sense dude. If you want to play F2P of course it costs you time. Nothing is free and nothing gets sooner.
It’s funny to read how people think about the behaviour and intentions of rich (or wealthy) people.
If I can only play for a maximum of 2-3 hours on some days, do I want to do things that I enjoy or things that I am forced to do? For example, “farming” islands? I’d rather spend money that I can’t spend more sensibly in real life and buy the mats in the auction house or Mari’s shop. There are plenty of T1 and T2 mats in the AH.
It’s also complete nonsense that whales can’t play their character or buy chars because they don’t want to level. Most of the time, such people are not the dumbest and laziest people in real life, otherwise they wouldn’t be wealthy. So it’s quite possible that some of them can play better than the average joe. ![]()
There are so many prejudices against rich people that sometimes it hurts to hear them over and over again. I just think some people have to tell themselves such things so they don’t seem so small. However, money has nothing to do with strength of character, diligence or ability. And this argument goes both ways and applies to poor people as well as rich people.
Lol
My point this:
Company wants: maximized outcome and minimize work.
Customer wants: minimize prices that we need to pay and maximize the entertainment.
I will add, that it is sounds much better if someone pays frequently than makes one big pay. For service provider.
So. I think that it doesn’t matter are u rich or not. If game designed to milk money out of u, u should resist it same as company will resist the idea of customer that don’t pay for service.
Ofc no service could be granted if u don’t pay, why anyone will do it, how they will live like this? But again, as I said, company wants to take as much money and as frequently as possible. We, want the opposite. This is why we should resist it.
But this is my opinion.
I paid only for the Platinum pack to start playing 3 days earlier I’m currently 1307, And while I bought things from mari’s shop it’s mostly Card packs and Gem Chests very little to almost no progression Items bought.
There’s justy no tangible proof to support the 3 years to end game we don’t even have end game unlocked yet we only have act 1 of tier 3 released we still have the other Acts to come, also levelling is supposed to take months to even reach tier 3 as a cheap free to play player who won’t ever drop money on this game you literally have no place to complain that you can’t reach T3 in a few weeks.
Be more efficient in you’re levelling. If Someone like me can make it to t3 without dropping hundreds on materials, but I have a feeling you’re shit at every mmo so the chances of someone like you reaching end game of any mmo before quitting is slim to none.
I will never understand anyone who complains about the F2P P2W dynamic… HOW ELSE ARE THE SERVERS AND STAFF GOING TO BE PAID FOR??? Fortunately in this game it’s not game breaking for anything considered competitive… the grand majority is time saving or cosmetic.
You get to play for free at the expense of people who want to spend. Enjoy your free game.
The alternative is subscription and/or $60 one time then $20-30 per DLC…
I’m having trouble finding what’s P2W in the game is the ability to be able to buy honing stones and leap stones from Mari’s shop?
People can whale out on Royal Crystals and sell that for gold, which they can then use that gold to buy honing materials off the market. Then thing is though that people fail to realize is you would need to spend 10s of thousands of dollars to actually make meaningful progress. So yes the whales can make progress faster, but its so insignificant for an average spender.
To all p2w players with 1300+ gs that are doing t1/2 raids/abys: you can use healing pots. You are welcome.
“Stockholm syndrome is a condition in which hostages develop a psychological bond with their captors during captivity.”
Is anyone holding anyone captive?
Try not to throw random stuff into the conversation if you don’t know what it means.
You do the research. Im not bashing the game. I have 305 hours but you can buy GOLD from the CURRENCY EXCHANGE for real money and that way you can max your ilvl in ONE DAY by buying materials from the MARKET.
Although, collections for skill points and runes takes awhile and you can’t really p2w that.
So play for 3 years to max out a character while being F2P. If you don’t want to do that you can pay to progress your game since you want to trade hours spent for money spent. Or there is a third option of being chill and just playing the game for the experience so how much time you spend or how much money you spend doesn’t matter as long as you are enjoying it personally. If you don’t have the time or the money to max out your character and that is a main objective for you than you could always play or do something else.
For a F2P who is relatively chill this doesn’t matter and they simply don’t care. If in 3 years there’s new gear or new content and it takes 3 years to get there then there’s going to be something else to play towards. Games like this are designed to have get new content with time. It’s those who pay a bit of money to progress in PvE who are also paying for content those of us who are F2P are able to experience.
So I’m not going to complain about where someone else is at in the game. It sounds to me that a lot of players actually think they are good at gaming and that they are going to be able to tell everyone how great they are by being one of the first to max out.
Games like this aren’t designed for those who max to destroy. Keeping it purely F2P with end content you can max out in a couple of weeks before you move on to your next game doesn’t help the developers make money to make more content but then again you don’t want them to. You want to be able to say you beat the game. This is not a game to be beat so how you look at it will determine if you can enjoy the game for what it is.
I’m trying to understand why those of us who are F2P should care whether someone can max their ilvl in one day by buying gold from the currency exchange? This is a key to understanding where you are coming from. Why should it matter to us how other people play their game and how they have fun playing it?
I get your point but I just don’t understand why I should care personally if someone spends money instead of spending time (time has a monetary value) to enjoy their game and have fun?
Thank you for saying this. Comparing a game to human rights or developing a bond with hostage takers by those being held hostage seems to be a bit over the top in my opinion especially since anyone can walk away from this game at any time. Life is full of so many experiences and so many things to do.
Ah okay thanks for clarifying that for me @SinTheory. Personally I’ve just been questing, doing chaos dungeons and Guardian raids and I’m almost tier 2 on 3 of my characters after only playing for just over 2 weeks now. I do not see what the issue is really. It’s not a race people need to take their time and smell the flowers and stop worrying about what other people are doing.
And that is how you have to play that game. Lost Ark is a marathon, not a race. If you are sitting here only caring about if people have a higher ilvl then you, you are going to have a bad time.
