"Streamer privlages" should count as RMT and be against ToS

Most Lost Ark streamers are more harmful than good for the community, specially the ones in partnership.

They call themselves “gamers” because they have a lot of “experience” playing many games.

Its embarrassing to see all the false information they spread , having no idea about the game they are streaming and also milking their viewers for gold.

Obviously this doesn´t impact the game as much as bots and rmt transactions but it´s something worth looking up to. I like the idea of adding a pheon tax for the gold trades.

So what are you saying is just because I play on two accounts means now I can’t send my items from one to the other, cause you feel like it’s unfair ? Are you seriously that angry of streamers receiving free staff and thinking how much you have to work for all that ?!

RMT is bad cause you are artificially injecting gold into the economy via bots, basically you are getting this gold which are mats out of thin air pretty much, causing a ton of inflation and devalues gold.

Giving things to streamers doesn’t break the economy at all because people are giving it at their own expense, so the gold or resources they earned legitimately, they’re giving so its all within the system. The only thing that could possible be bad is if they are giving streamers mats that they RMTed, which is the RMT being bad not the gifting.

Dumbest take on this forum tbh

I personally don’t see it as an issue. It doesn’t affect anyone’s gameplay and progress. If viewers want to give their gold to streamers, it’s up to them. If there’s a transaction involved IRL for the gold, we wouldn’t know and honestly, it doesn’t matter because it doesn’t affect the game lol. You cannot tantamount this to bots/rmt because THAT is gold obtained ILLEGALY. Clean gold trading is part of the economy. As long as your gold is legit, you’re free to do whatever you want with it.

Case closed

“Fuck these streamers getting all the gold from people”

2 seconds later

opens up he’s favourite content creator to give them views

That’s how it is in Final Fantasy XIV, if you’re not on each others friendlist, you can not send mail to each other, even if you know each others names.

People sending gold & mats is the same as dontaing money to streams. I personally don’t see the point, but people are (and should be) free to do it. You just made all the stream donations and subscriptions punishable ingame.

Congratultions, you’re now officialy a communist!

I think many people don’t see the issue, be it from lack of experience or understanding.

Streamers are for some people, notably the young one, a cult of personality. They are their superheroes, their mentors, their entertainment and sometimes their bitch.

We are currently in a state, where the amount of gold we can make in the game is quite finite, almost non-existent compared to other games with RMT, and with such an absurd pricetag the legal gold has, gold farmers are currently quite enjoying this situation. You have playerbase that is starved of gold, with few means to make them, while they sit on piles of gold, larger than Smough’s Den.

Now, what do you think would happen, if you introduce into this system basically a cult, where one person joins with an entire following of their minions, who are doing their bidding? Since they want to please their icon, they want to give them “gifts”, but the ability to earn these gifts legally are severely restricted, be it time or money. Generally, when people donate to streamers they have more time than money (logically) So what they do, to satisfy their virtual friend? They open their wallet. And considering aforementioned prices, and the fact that they don’t really care about the game (they don’t even need to play it, really) it will certainly NOT be from legal streams.

Now, take cult of personality and multiply them by tens, even hundreds. Add here and there collaboration with these gold sellers, some “bonuses” if you gift more than others and voilà. Le Ark

Now you know why the gold selling is so thriving in this game. They are creating demand, while developers are creating a perfect environment.

This is not the first and last game that battles with this issue. “Gifting” to streamers ruined both the game and the experience of the players and even streamers. I’ve seen it over and over again, in whatever genre you can imagine.

Well you answered your own post. It is a CULT. The game isn’t going to advocate freethinkers and individuality if that’s what you’re after lol. Everyone’s got the right to play how they want to play. But the moment they start partaking in illegal activities (purchasing via RMT), they better be ready for the repercussions. Other than that, let them break their banks to pay for streamers and stuff, it shouldn’t concern you.

Maybe from the OP, but I clearly said twice that I think they deserve it, regardless if it is RMT or not. Just wanted to make that clear again

you are palying a whale p2w game with 50 to 100 thousand bots running around selling gold dominating the market and streamers are your problem? how exactly did a single streamer impact your lost ark gaming experience please enlighten us

and what exactly can he accomplish that any other whale can not that decided to burn 1k dollars daily into the game? and again how does someone giving his gold or mats to a streamer so he uses them on his gear instead of him change anything for anyone else?

do you realize these streamers are such a miniscule problem…how many big lost ark streamers are there that can impact the game at all? 5? 10? while whales are thens of thousands that have the same power with getting the same resources but with money and not by fame.

and when all these streamers probably leave the game in some foreseeable future and you will realize they had 0 impact on your game other than making it less dead

Do you understand the concept of freemium games? Whales are not in tens or thousands. 1% of Whales generate 99% of income. There are probably around 50-100 actual whales in total on western market, and that’s already generous. The rest are opportunistic buyers who spend 10-20 quid a month for skin or skip.

Many of these streamers are also whales.

what does this have to do with what were discussing? except you correcting me on the number of whales?

Someone is jealous.

Everything.

You based your reply on a premise that there are tens of thousands of whales, dwarfing the problem of streamers accepting gifts, thus creating demand for RMT, which is false. There are few actual whales, and many of them are streamers or their minions who are driving the illegal gold market.

It changes everything for everyone else, because both golds and mats are finite resources. You have specific limit (call it semi hard lock if you want) you can make before swiping and if you try to funnel everything to a streamer, you are destined to deplete the market, thus turn into RMT. The depletion of market and RMT is what affects everyone.

Streamer 1 gets from 10 followers 10k of each blue and red honning mats. That’s 200 000 mats that are missing on the market, thus the demand for them goes up, but due the gold starvations, created by developers, accidentally or deliberately, people turn into RMT, so they can actually progress their character. Yes you can say “if the stones are more expensive you can make more money”, but if the stones are more expensive, that means there’s more gold in the system, thus making everything more expensive, even gold-crystal ratio. If everything is more expensive and the only way to earn this much gold is to sell these stones due to artificial shortage created by these minions, nothing would be affordable for player that need these resources to actually progress or don’t want to buy gold either by legal or illegal mean.

This is if all the 10 followers obtained 10K of each stone legally.
They of course didn’t, because this is an obscene amount of mats, so they are directly supporting RMT by this behaviour.

TLDR: Streamers are putting too much pressure for the economy to handle without RMT, especially in regions with already low pop.

You know… People love to hate on streamers, but they seem to be forgetting or do not know some MAJOR things…

  1. Many Streamers Are Not Receiving “Privileges.” Not every streamer gets gifts, payments, or incentives from viewers or gaming companies. Do not assume they do.

  2. Not All Streamers Make Money From Viewers. You have to meet certain requirements to even make a teensy bit of money off of it, 50 followers being one of those. It can be quite difficult to get 50 followers if you do not have a lot of friends, do not use social media, do not have a large guild to support you, and/or do not shove the fact that you are a streamer down others’ throats. Take a look around. There are many streamers without 50 followers, some of them having been going over a year.

  3. Not All Streamers Are Pieces of Garbage. Some are actually pretty cool people. Just because one streamer does one thing does not mean all streamers do that thing.

  4. Not All Streamers Purposefully Flood Servers With People. Some streamers won’t tell their viewers what server they are on. Others try to discourage everyone from jumping onto their server and flooding it with people. Mostly servers get flooded with followers of streamers because they feel the need to be on the same server as their favorite streamer; both sides are responsible in this case.

  5. Many Streamers Use Their Own Money (In-Game and Real Life) to Give Things To Viewers. Unless it’s an official giveaway or Twitch drop authorized by the gaming company, anything a streamer gives away to viewers comes out of their own pockets…in-game or out. For example, 10 million gold giveaways comes directly from the streamer, who had to make that money in-game first in order to give it away if they don’t want to be banned for dealing with gold sellers.

  6. Streamers Have To Follow The Same Rules You Do. This one is self-explanatory.

ran across this topic a few times and just could not believe it was real, in a p2w game where you can buy everything being given stuff for free by your friends and followers should be illegal, omg I’m dying here. Its literally “I cannot outwhale this guy and its not fair, ban him immediately”.

What about streamers who offer carries to people who follow them on Twitch in order to add followers? Or who do carries for subscribers?

In this case, the streamer is receiving an external benefit for actions performed ingame.

ill ask you again…what is the difference to you or the economy if the viewer uses the mats or gold on his own stuff or gives it to a streamer so he uses it on his? does the streamer somehow uses the mats and gold up in a different way than anyone else? and please focus this time
