Hello i made a striker alt since i wanted to have a martial artist.
Wardancer gets too spammy lategame .
But idk it feels kinda meh, the main problem is that i have to be back attacking but i have no ability that helps me move around a boss.
i have some small gap closers but they only work in a straight line and if i would use them to intentionally miss the boss to move around its a big damage loss.
Any tips or suggestions? How do other people feel?
Striker is pretty rough until you get used to his movements and combos. I feel what Striker should get is some super armor on his major moves so he isn’t interrupted by everything in case he doesn’t perfectly time and place his abilities. But his mobility generally speaking is fine imo. I’m currently gearing mine up for t3 Deathblow build because I think that is more my jam than Esoteric Flurry where his abilities just don’t feel that impactful (imo).
He was my 2nd char and got completely left in the dust, but now I’m rediscovering him and I’m getting more used to both the moveset and the general play style. I think it’s just a char that really wants t3 stats / engravings to fully come online (like so many chars tbh).
For Melee Classes I also have a Gunlancer, Zerk, Soulfist, Demonic, Deadeye and Scrapper (although my scrapper is still stuck at 30 because I have too many alts at this point) and when compared to the other melee chars, Striker feels pretty mobile actually. Sure Demonic has no positionals with the demo build, Gunlancer just stands in front of mobs and eats abilities, Zerk is quite fast due to perma speed buff in mayhem, Soulfist with Energy overflow is spam supreme and Deadeye has heaps of mobility but once I got my Striker past mid T2 content he felt a lot better to play (unlike Deadeye that felt horrible to play once I hit mid T2 on him).
I’m looking forward to seeing how Shock Scrapper feels at T2+ because I think I’d enjoy her play style (and it’d be somewhat similar to deathblow Striker)
I’m not going to make a Wardancer though, because I don’t see the point if I have a striker xD
I played striker in pvp specifically, trying to do pve on it was a bit of a shock.
Pve striker feels like a snail in a wheelchair compared to the pvp build when it comes to overall mobility.
That being said, striker is a specialization related class which means that increasing 1 stat changes the way your class plays drastically on a fundamental level. Additionally, legion raids aka the big boys also don’t move nearly as much as guardian raids so your lack of jumping around does not matter as much.
Dont mind the damage loss, not dying and wiping everyone is your top priority in Lost Ark.
I like him a lot, he is like wooooosh bam bam bam, punch punch kick! Its definitely not a class for everyone though. I am not sure about my next statement but i feel he has the most burst in the game, instant damage.
This is true. But playing Deathblow spec before 1.5 will always lead to dps loss.
But people follow the grude/burst hype for “endgame” while we’re still in babyphase.
Eso swift here.
Rarely that I’m not mvp in chaos.
And almost always I’m upright figher in any other content. Which is good enough and often still lands mvp without a support class.
I can understand not wanting to swap entire engravings each tier, thats what I did on my striker anyway as he is deathblow while it is obviously weaker early on.
But if you pick a lategame engraving and go for a lategame build, then wait out till endgame to see how your class performs is what im saying ^^.
Even with eso and swift, if you want to use main stat swiftness, this also changes the “feel” of the class, due to attack speed and CDR so at the end of the day, having more gear in this game is not just bigger numbers, but also smoother gameplay one way or the other.
i started deathblow and then swapped to the other one and its a lot more fun, you can use 3 esoteric skills on cooldown
yeah numbers are smaller buts its not that big of a deal if you miss one and you get a lot more in
That’s actually exactly the reason why the class guide I watched a few months ago said the Wardancer is overall better than Striker.
Wardancer mains swiftness which just makes her faster and with better mobility to stick to boss’ butt where as the Striker has a harder time trying to do the same.
