Stronghold benches.NPC's not sitting?

In the stronghold I placed some of those fancy benches and it turns out NPC’s cant sit on them (but can sit on chairs) Is this a bug or intended?

Is there any news on this? I can make them sit on individual chairs, but not the group chair

Yep…makes the stronghold look dead tbh if no one is sitting on them,
