Stronghold Farm Changes

100%, I was surprised that the existing location was removed for the farm. It feels like a nerf. I would greatly appreciate bringing back the POH mats that we can gather ourselves.

They should give you the option of auto harvest or not

Honestly I kinda wish both farm systems still existed.

For me, remove the immersion is the problem. It just need to be improved, I would love to be a farmer, like in BDO, but it should be improved A LOT. It’s now just a dumb system with low near to zero interaction level. As it was created, seems just an MVP.

So everyone crying here needs to remember that you can still gather FOREVER in the world. The farm can be used when you are lazy, it was always like that. Even when you had more farm nodes, it was still way more profitables to gather outside of the stronghold.

I haven’t gotten any world tree leaves, and I doubt I ever will from this new farm. I also don’t get tradeskills XP, UNA essence drops for the UNA weekly, or credit for the guild tradeskill farming.

are we supposed to just forget our Cave of Life ever existed? no portal there anymore either, so you really have to hoof it.

I don’t understand why we were taught one farm system only to have it replaced with one that harms the aesthetic of our stronghold. Is this the farm that KR knows and loves? Has anyone in that region made an argument in favor of retaining the old farm layout?

While I’m on this thread, please also let us mute farm notifications. It’s annoying having a Stronghold Notification that you can’t mute without inefficiently burning your energy or deleting all your farm nodes.

It’s the latter. I deleted every node and am no longer using this feature at all, please consider giving us more options to manage our farm.

True but the requirements are easier now, right? IIRC guild quest for fishing level 3 required 55 and now it requires 42. Unas weekly is now 500 and was 1000.

Good point. I had seen that the UNA and guild quests had gone down but did not correlate that with the change to the farm.

Same girl. Same.

I don’t like the change.

Is there any chance that it will be changed back? When enough players don’t like the way it is now and actually abandon this “feature”… I just would like to hope ^^

(I mean, I do not persist on the unataskability, but at least on the old-fashioned style of harvesting, cave and fishing included)

This! I agree so much. At first I was like ‘oh cool, we get like a garden addition where we can harvest stuff without too much hassle, and then we can still go to the other nodes to gather if we want more’. But NO.

Now we have an empty plot you can’t use for anything with a garden that yields far less gatherables than before. On top of that, as others say, you lose the option to progress guild requests through your own farm (i sort of get the idea behind that, though, but it still is a sucky change) or, you know, just gather stuff to level your skills or have fun and enjoy how it looks (I really liked that little part of my stronghold).

I just don’t get this change, it’s stupid, doesn’t serve a purpose - you could literally do the same, but only more interactive than you can now - and… well… it just looks stupid. You don’t even see the nodes and you don’t even see people tending the fields (THAT would at least be nice to look at, hehe).

@Shadow_Fox I just created a ticket with customer service before finding this thread. I didn’t realize that this change was intended. I thought we could just turn it off via the tab if we didn’t like it, but my resources weren’t respawning. Now I see that the only way to farm is via the gatherables tab.

Perhaps make it a choice? Allow players to use the tab, or they can turn it off and the gatherables will spawn in the farm as they used to. Player choice is the key to success here.

this is one of the best changes ever, no more life skill farming

Maybe there should be a Stronghold setting toggle. Auto-farm mode, versus manual-farm mode. That way players can have a one-click solution if that is what they want. And other players can wander in and pick out the nodes that they want to farm manually.

This is exactly it, I completely agree with the original poster, the change is a nerf, and having the plot of land be empty is jarring. It should have never been a change in the first place, should have only been an addition. I was never a fan of farming them manually and only did them on occasion so I do farm more often now with the maintenance button, but that shouldn’t have come with a nerf to the number of materials I get.

I mean I do like the farm and it is an overall improvement for the people who want to not bother going out and gathering, but the overall cost to maintain gathering from the farm is a lot higher than if you were to do it yourself, I suppose that’s the downside of it being instant.

I just wish we had a choice of doing it the manual way of doing it through the farm, you can choose one option per day and then you are locked into that option until the next reset, want more materials from the farm gather it yourself…

u actually have to research higher lvl nodes on farm using the the Lab

There are crafting recipes that take ONLY farm mats, so now we have way fewer mats.
e.g. There are two crafting tool repair, and crafting tool parts recipes. one only takes the farm mats, one only takes “in the world” mats. You cannot mix and match, the farm tool repair recipe requires the parts from the farm parts recipe…
As an additional kick in the bits, they are not even numbers, 30 parts per recipe, repair recipe costs 40.
You are locked into using one set of recipes or the other, if you don’t want to waste mats. Assuming you even buy both sets, currently I only have the farmed ones.

The stronghold change is great. It took stronghold from a waste of time to a way to consume excess energy. I’ve even stopped doing non-stronghold gathering now due to how great the change is while previously I only did open world gathering.
