Supports in pvp

I know you all at AGS probably can’t change the way matchmaking works yourselves but please for the love of god tell SG to make the matchmaking better. Supports should be flat out disallowed if one is not present on both teams, I am so sick of losing matches because one team is given a bard or paladin and has access to huge shields and a fucking heal which every other class in the game doesn’t have access to. Especially in ranked I cannot imagine how this is not something that was thought of when the game mode was being made FUCKING FIX IT. Honestly with how much it happens it makes me want to just never engage with this content that otherwise I would find rather fun.

or , you just deal with the system and play a support in pvp , so you have the same advantage ?

you will see pretty fast , how inconsistant you are as a support , how high the lvl of reliability you have from your teammates , and you flat out cant win a game if the team wont play with you

i mean isnt it your own fault when you wont take advantage metawise ?

Tbh, bard and Paly ult last for what ? 10 sec at best, just run around like a chicken.

Then bard Guardian Tune (the bubble that absorbs DMG) is up for 8s. and it has a cd of 50 sec. So again just run like a chicken the time it runs out.

Learn how the class work. It’s primordial for a win strike

Normalized pvp in this game is very unbalanced (despite claiming otherwise). Supports and classes that benefit from shields and a lot of push immunity/super armor have a net advantage over classes with no shields and less immunity.

Supports are S tier in pvp because they do good damage, as good as a DPS class but they also benefit from protection, which affects both them and their party. This gives a party that has a support in it a clear advantage over a party which doesn’t have one.

In addition, there are classes such as Destroyer, Warlord and on a lesser note Blaster or Scouter with a lot of immunity and super armor which makes them very hard to counter/kill. The less we speak of Demonic or Blader, the better.

Pvp in this game is trash if you don’t play the classes that have a clear advantage due to their skills/build. Which is why I don’t bother as a Soul master main. I do 5 games per week for the weekly una task that gives 11 leapstones and I move away from this cancer. Whether I win or I lose it matters less, as my class is useless here without help from party mates. Just to show how much SG cares about balance in normalized pvp, they nerfed the dmg reduction buff Energy Release provides to self and party mates, but did not address the insane damage some classes do. An Arcana player that has Cull card and full stacks can literally one shot players, yet the balance issue was the measly dmg reduction Energy Release provides. Hilarious.

Supports are not such op in this game. Even if there is no support in your team you got preety good chance to win.

True, but parties that have a support and those who do not have an advantage. Most of the time a non-support party wins against one that has a support, is if someone from that party underperforms badly. Or the support player is shite.

As a Support main, Its actually hard to be a support. This game cant matchmake worth a damn and the amount of times I get paired with lower elo dps and my opponents are diamond/master dps with lower dps. Game is almost unwinnable due to the fact we do no damage and are relying on people with poor mechanical understanding of pvp to carry. (Unless you abuse paladin change my mind). Or we get slotted with 2 supports 1 dps vs 3 dps. The 3 dps will win purely because supports again do no damage and can only peel and protect.

People complaining about shields, crazy concept shields got nerfed pretty hard for supports. On top of the fact bards “shield” which has a t3 cc immunity has a 1 minute cooldown with a very short buff window of 8 seconds that you can easily wait out. (Ignore the mp cost tripod its my pve build I set to level 1 to show the effects of the tripods in question)

If you want to complain about classes? Look at how strong Arcana is after the massive buff to the tripods, stacking, and emperor. Especially with how easy it can throw out 3 different low cooldown Tier 3 CCs with huge aoe radius. Destroyers which can literally press endure pain and run at you laughing as you tickle their shield the entire match, and now reaper which a toddler can do well with.

ah the amazing counterplay of RUN for 26 sec.
Why nobody has thought of that.

Is it literally the bare minimum you can do to out play supps in pvp. If you feel like my recommandation isn’t on point, please im waiting for yours ??? I think the : You need to get good theory applies heavily into pvp lol.

One step at a time, from chicken to bard ulti pro peeler one needs to learn lul

If you can’t avoid a team for 10 seconds with some self peel you need to rethink your pvp strategies. Because I sure as hell see people doing it when they are winning by 1 point and 10 seconds are left on the clock and low hp

Not saying they’re not hard to play but a lot of games are close af and the issue is normally it comes down to overtime or next kill wins they tend to save their stuff for that and at that point you don’t have time to run around and just avoid the entire team. Even if the other players make mistakes you don’t have enough time or damage to kill people in the last 20 seconds when they have a shield for like a third of their hp. There isn’t that much you can do about that at all when you have 30 seconds left in a close game. Still think that they shouldn’t get queued with people when there isn’t one present on both sides that just seems like common sense. EIther have one on each side or none at all, not the BS where one team gets one and the other has 2 or 3 of the same class the matchmaking needs to be improved so that this doesn’t continually happen.

man every time someone like you gives a stupid suggestion they always try to imply im bad at the game. I am master, I have 25 wins in a row achivement, I got to masters with 70% winrate and got bored of it.
and no, walking away and doing nothing for 26s is NOT a valid form of counterplay, there is a reason why high ranked games are lost in the loading screen when 1 party has a support and the other one doesnt. and there is a reason why class stacking and support stacking is forbidden, and YES people have work arounds like def spamming comps that almost auto win

Yeah just not doing anything is not a valid way to combat it whatsoever I’m only silver but this is most of the reason I don’t even try and play ranked, cause in casual tdm you can at least play with others and make a team comp but ranked you’re just stuck with the awful matchmaking. I’m sure you have seen a lot more then me but my current favs that i see a lot are triple sorcs verses an actual team, me(sh) and two bards or a bard and a pally, double destroyer on the same team(cancer). It’s frustratingly awful.

How is it stupid while it is the only solution available since I am not hoping for any changes to matchmaking. They just don’t care about the whole thing you know.

Either you adapt or you get shit on.

That 8s during Guardian tune can be used to trick them into using their own skills on you. if they miss and guardian tune runs out, please tell me now whats missing ? They have no bard protection and are on CD. Come on

guardian tune lasts 8s followed by another 8s of shield, so it in fact lasts 16s.
the real counterplay to guardian tune is accept that you deal reduced damage and continue.
It is THE ONLY valid strategy.
if you back off and any of your 2 random teammates doesnt he dies and the game is over.
And if we are talking premade, they enable dogshit like gtune + arti walking at you for 10s, then insta stun and 1shot comps. zzZZzz

Imo that second phase shield is somewhat easy to peel off them so it’s less risky than the guardian tune itself. But yea you pointed out the flaw, if only 1 player doesn’t act the same we are screwed, which is probably what happen for the most part.

There is little to no comms before and during games. You thought of one approach B and C also thought of different approach, no one knows what his/her team mates are going to do.

So I guess to generalise the answer to this problem its where im thinking that we should set a standard approach to this very specific situation. Which is why I say run like a chicken, because like it or not it’s still one very easy way for everyone to agree and to stick together closely.

I hope this make sense x)
