Supports shouldn't be included in the MVP screen

Theres a 9% discrepancy between each title meaning u can have up to a 18% dps discrepancy if 1 got upright fighter and the other got fighter. Also cruel fighter has no upper limit, u could do 100% dps and still get cruel fighter. So u need to see 1 person’s % to guess how much the other 2 probably did. If u can’t see all 3 then it’s a wild guess.

MVP literally stands for Most Valuable Player, not Most DPS…

If you have a support they kind of get this position by default unless they’re trash because guess what, they’re the Most Valuable Player on the team lmao

That will always exist regardless of whether a dps gets MVP or not. If the dps go over 66% damage done they’d have beaten out the healer in this MVP screen, MVP is all about the primary percentage number from what I’ve seen.

Edit: Also, it isn’t a wild guess, we know at the very least the upright fighter did 30% so even if the fighter phoned it in with 10% damage and we’ll give the healer 10% damage too that only leaves 50% damage to be done

Ok so if someone got cruel fighter, the lowest is 40% and highest ur saying is 66% thats still an astronomical difference. It’s much easier to guess when u can see the actual %.

Yeah like I said 10000 times now supports are already MVPs in their own category, don’t need to be showing up on the MVP screen and blocking the DPS% which is what I wanna see as a support coz I wanna c which DPS did how much dmg.

Yeah you’ll rarely see people going over 66% unless they’re boosting.

You just want a dps meter don’t you?

DPS meter is ideal but smilegate purposely trying to stop that so can only work with what we’ve got :frowning:

DPS meters are a cancer to mmos imo

Hope they stick by their guns

I disagree, I think DPS meters should be mandatory and it’s cancer to not have it coz so many scrubs getting free carries.

Still think it’s yikes. overreacted last time because i’ve been on the wrong side of class discrimination recently. This kind of dps meter would make it even worse. If i was forced to play a zerk (for example) just so no one kicks me even though i try my best with gear and in the boss fight… no thanks. There’s a reason i never touched wow.

Would u rather be judged for ur DPS or judged for ur class and engravings? Coz if theres no DPS meter, people will just judge u based on gear and class since they dunno how much DPS ur pulling.

lets be honest though:
people will judge you for the dumbest things they can come up with …
(including but not limited to: roster-level, engravings but not secondary stats or the other way around, … etc)

not having a dmg meter in a game where the performance between tries can vary WILDLY just cause the boss decides to focus on you more and you cant get back-attacks or you just need to dodge more is a VERY good thing.

MVP screen could defo need some overhaul though

Forget that supports shouldn’t be or should be in the MVP screen. Just remove the fucking MVP screen. The fact that all classes aren’t evened out makes the entire screen pointless. What you gonna do, get MVP on Scrapper and then talk shit to the Sorceress because she didn’t out damage you? Just remove the MVP screen. Or have it be just you and how much you did and you CAN’T see anyone elses. PvE Communities already elitist and toxic enough with this junk. MVP also does not translate to who did the most damage. It’s just most valuable player. Having the highest damn damage doesn’t always make you the better player, but game standards will never be able to determine this kind of shit without an entire ranking system involved and at that point you should only be judged based on someone who is the exact same class as you, not anyone else. You’d have to have an “all time best” leaderboard thing for Endgame Crap. Fuck MVP.

If you don’t do that, why you even know this in the first place? :grimacing:

Yeah and only play the highest damage classes to flex their might and ignore utility:D can‘t wait.

Players want their exact % not only for damage but for every other thing like stagger/ destruction.

Item contribution is also there but ppl tend to have their priorities

Dmg > everything > item contribution

I think supps should appear on mvp but i also think it would be good if everyone has their % displayed.

As a blade i would love to know if i did the most dps cause that means i did my part of the job as a mainly dps class

I’m not sure I’m following because we already know the percentages behind the titles, do you mean the percentages for each category per person?

Yes

The other day i had a destruction tittle just for using my items and i wanted to know my % damage…

don’t care about others in this, but myself. But yeah, sometimes I’m there as stagger, which as non-stagger class means I did awful damage. I want to see that number. At least that.

The real thing is I want full combat log for analysis. I kinda need to see what damage is my doing, what part comes from external buffs from others (something MVP never considered), timeline/uptime of buffs (like the gear triggers, because the obfuscated description “some chance to do some damage” is as helpful as paying SGR employees “some money someday”), missed burst windows, seeing back/normal damage done…

All these things are important for improving oneself. Some dummy and theorycrafting made on dummy will never really get good answers.

The worst thing about the dumb MVP screen is, you could have done the 2nd highest DPS but get a dumb stagger title while the other dude got a cruel fighter title and the third DPS got a fighter title.

One would assume that if support did 5% DPS and MVP did 40% and third guy did “fighter title” then u probably did around the same DPS as the third guy. But in reality, it could have been 40% MVP, 5% support, 35% you and 20% third guy but since u did stagger, it covered up your Upright Fighter title and showed Annihilator so you think God my class is garbage DPS when in reality, it did fine but your were deceived by the shitty MVP screen NOT displaying exact %.

Had we gotten DPS meters, we would know exactly which classes on average does higher DPS, who is playing their class really well, who is doing terrible, how you’re doing and how much u can improve, who to kick if u can’t meet DPS checks in harder raids etc…

Making the MVP screen ambiguous or taking it away only adds problems, people will always judge u based on ur contribution which is ur performance, if you don’t give metrics, people will just start jumping to wild conclusions like looking at ur engravings, gear and assuming, thats so much worse, understand that by not giving metrics, ur just making the problem worse and people who might be good at the game with lesser items will be the ones who suffer from the prejudice the most.
