I’ve decided to powerpass up a Surge Deathblade now. However, there’s a couple things I’m not sure about and I wonder if you can help me clarify something.
-Engravings
I know Surge 3, Ambush Master 3 and Grudge 3. I think I’ll also want to run Adrenaline 1. But which other engravings are good options? I don’t like running Grudge and Cursed Doll together*. Is Super Charge even worth it with only 2 Charging skills?
*I know Grudge and CD together are the best dps engravings. However, I don’t like running both together. It makes me feel just a little bit too squishy for my liking. I know that DB isn’t a tanky class to start with, and I do have a GL alt for that purpose but I’m not trying to absolutely maximize my dps, I’m about having fun while playing. And being too squishy distracts from the fun aspect for me.
-Skills
I mentioned only 2 Charging Skills above bringing up Super Charge. That is because I want to run Moonlight Sonic. But which skill is “easiest” to replace for MS? I’m thinking it might be Blitz Rush… Is that about right? Or should I drop another non-charging skill for it instead?
Blitz Rush, Void Strike, Soul Absorber
with Moonlight Sonic that’s 4 charging skills (Remaining Energy uses all 4)
You could replace Blitz Rush for Moonlight, then have an easier time generating the stacks (but Blitzrush does deal good dmg)
If you don’t want both Grudge and Cursed Doll, then I would add Adrenaline
Surge/Grudge/Ambush/Adrenaline 4x3
Potentially with Sight Focus 4x3 +1
If you have high quality relic accessories with a lot of specialization, you can get one earring or ring with crit, because seeing white numbers after you press 20 stack surge kinda hurts
Also Keen Blunt is an option, but useless if you don’t crit
The deathblade is also very mobile, you can move around the boss while generating stacks
Spincutter - you can move 3 times
Dark Axel - Jump over to the other side
Earth Cleaver - 4m mini charge
Void Strike - similar to earth cleaver after release
Soul Absorber - the first stab moves you a few meters, and the second slash as well
If you get used to the deathblade and can use these skills to reposition yourself, to backattack and dodge tbe bosses attacks, then you might feel confident enough for Cursed Doll, because it is a great engraving
dont run supercharge, the majority of your damage is inside the surge itself so running any engraving that does not give any benefit to the surge is extremely wasted potential
if you really hate cursed doll for 5x3 you can go grudge, ambush, adrenaline, surge, keen blunt all on lvl 3, you absolutely have to have adrenaline lvl 3 for keen blunt though and cursed doll is still more consistent and more effective due to entropy set giving you crit damage already
and yea for 4x3 go grudge, surge, ambush, adrenaline all lvl 3
