Swiping for gold. Let's talk

gotcha, guess i should’ve hit the general reply button instead of the one on your comment.

Okay actually I misspoke I play for about 15/20 minutes a day to do two chaos dungeons on my main and Market or bank the resources. You can address me again.

LOL yeah, currently until they completely remove the bots from the game there is no efficient method of making gold except from weekly lockout content per character, and the game is suffering from a lack of content… South vern should hit on the 14th.

You mean the roadmap which announces South Vern should release on the 14th? :frowning:

YUP lol, “roadmap” a week before april’s content patch…
that being said though honing materials is not a long term method of gold making. only after change in honing materials amongst the first couple weeks is when you’re able to make descent gold off it.

I think when AGS started to inject materials to help us with the accelerated content, they forgot that silver and gold was also something required for honing and progression. Similar to how they forgot that additional materials would be helpful for players to keep up with faster content for Argos release.

Forget? Or purposefully ignorant.

They need to reduce honing gold and silver costs. These were put in place as gold sinks for a player base thats been playing for years. The problem is we rushed so fast to tier 3 and dont have the massive stockpiles of resources the other regions had when these costs were calculated as being appropriate.

our costs of honing are already cheaper in KR, we need gold sinks as a method of regulating the economy. they just need to adjust the gold rewards from abyss dungeons / weekly adventure islands to moderately increase the allowable gold generation outside of lucky RNG accessory / gem drops.

That’s possible yes. But being inept is a possibility too. Their original plan was to push out content faster, but they could have forgotten that it’s probably important to push players along to keep up with released content too.
Or it’s possible they didn’t realize that players would be upset even if all content was released if we can’t access them for years, because we can’t keep up with a ‘normal’ progress pace.

The problem with that is so many people think getting a lucky drop and selling it for 2-10k+ is “making” gold because gold is now in their hands. 5% is still removed from the economy and none gained through that transaction, and over time, the amount of gold available depletes, as we’ve been seeing.

right which is why the reliable solution is to increase the amount of gold generated into the economy from weekly content and not materials that can be exploited by bots

It’s a real shame that players being upset scares a company like AGS into inaction. Players will always be unhappy/angry about something no matter what they do, it’s a given. Not fixing blatant issues with the economy is on a whole different level

Masterpieces can give you like what? 30k, that is good source of one time profit. - other than that? Make alts to T3, preferably to 1340/1370 and do the same thing with them as with your main.

which is why we saw such a huge amount of players asking for abyss trials / heroic guardians even if they weren’t released in KR until after legion raids, because its equalized content that anyone who access to the dungeons can complete for extra gold / material generation, and i hope these will be included in the roadmap for release some time soon.

There was too much backlash. And I do think they did make a mistake.

Maybe they intended to release content fast, regardless if players can keep up or not. Technically nothing wrong with that. But in this day and age, p2w seems to be whales having access to content way sooner than f2p and snowballing off of it. I do agree that Lost Ark should not have too large of a disparity between f2p and whales, especially when it seems to do well in that department in Korea’s version.

I believe the optimal solution is for AGS to accelerate player progress to keep pace with accelerated content. But from what I can see, they likely delayed content while attempting to inject materials, albeit late, to help players progress a bit faster. If Valtan doesn’t come out on 4/14, then this is probably the case. If it does come out, then they likely plan to keep original schedule but attempt to inject enough materials for us to keep up. The former seems to be more likely, but I much prefer the latter.

I ran into this thread’s exact issue last week- I wanted to get something new, cosmetic-wise, to keep my stale-gameplay-to-slowly-improve-GS-climb enjoyable.
I have disposable income, more money than time, but no interest in paying to progress my GS, so I looked at cosmetics- already bought an Omen skin weeks ago. I’ve checked the rapport skins and they’re not anything exciting.

Let me be clear- I want to spend some money on this game. I’m willing to do so, AGS, you just have to let me.

The piñata mounts are uninteresting, the free animal suits and surfboards aren’t for me.
I have 60+ of each dye in my storage from freebies and buying out the full event shop weekly, and nothing to dye but a dumb looking dino hat.
Literally no options to purchase that are worth buying to me.
I search the market and the Lawbringer and Founders skins are meh.

Then I see a nice complimentary platinum chest for 60k gold.
60k gold, I don’t have anywhere near that, maybe 3k currently?
Alright then, I can buy crystals and convert to gold, that’s what AGS wants people to do-
what will that cost in currency exchange…
$320 dollars US buying Royal Crystals and converting them to gold.

Are you kidding me?

Legitimately closed the game and went to FF14 instead and dropped $25 on an actual flying whale mount.

Lmao yeah that was a pretty realistic sequence of events.

Yeah there is something the whales who don’t want more gold sources in game seem to miss. If players have more gold to spend, then the amount of gold whales get from crystals goes way up. If players are struggling with gold, then crystal prices will crash.

but its not amazon its smilegate and they know what they are doing to milk players for real money.
