This is looking like Black Desert, after a big expansion/event, the 1st thing to do is log in fast and see if there is an exploit to be abused, really “good” future for the game. (btw, I not abused the explot, i am just concerned about the bad repercussion to the game this mistakes do, and make people lose security and will to keep invested in a game with bad security/decisions).
The reason thing to do is revert and let everyone do the same, and next week make character bound. So everyone will be in equal foot and no one will lose gold by the shadow changes and mistakes of administration.
Good point, it was not an exploit. This make things even worst, just revert back for 1 week and change next one with prior notification I guess would be the best way of action.
This wasnt a bug nor an exploit. It ia not possible uploading a patch and transform “char bound” in “roster bound”.
No matter how many times they force this shit on you and players, there is no way a bug switches something of that category at random. Add in that the patch doesnt even come from them but it s a copy paste from kr.
Which means one of two things:
they meddled with the patch to change frog from normal into gacha with addition of tokens functioning as barrier for the good rewards.
They might have rewritten the patch and not limited the mats to character.
This would tho also mean that they indulged in game changes for predatory practices.
Tbh i doubt any of the ones working there has even the knowledge or will to actually do work like modding a patch tho.
the patch was meant to be roster bound since start, being inviting at spending for the roster bound status and then they realized a) engravings got down in few hrs and b)they had no more need to help people gather resources so they called it bug and stopped it.
kek rollback isn’t an option they can consider with how many rng elements/factors there are in this game.
Imagine the backlash from a rollback in honing, quality tapping, opening card packs, getting collectables, getting good accessories, doing legion raids to even the daily materials u get from homework.
We will be pushing a hotfix to switch over the chests in the shop to be Character bound, and details on when this will occur will be shared later. Chests that are held in Roster storage when this update occurs will be able to be moved out of Roster storage to any character of your choosing, including future characters. However, once a chest is moved out of Roster storage, it will become bound to this character. Chests that are in a character’s inventory following the update will become bound to that character.
Both are indeed pretty valid, but I’d like to think it is the second one the one with the biggest chance.
They saw people will not need to buy stuff from mary or AH in a while and that would make all the prices drop (BC went down from 3k to 2.3k in EUC yesterday) thus they will lose income so they decided to patch it asap so that they could again get that juicy money. (BC went back up to 2.75k today since the chest block)
Btw “frog is here to combat inflation”, the inflation on engraving books maybe. Nothing else.
