I meat bigger as in geographically bigger, hence my talking about latency.
waht are you talking about? At launch NA between 2 regions had 10 servers and EU had 9
This being revised after they pushed additional for each region, could have clarified. My bad.
Thats understainable.
But you have to agree that opening up EUC servers before F2P release has to be the greatest MMO blunder in many years.
Everyone who has played MMOs before knew and said that there will be massive issues and the lock was a good idea.
Then you opened servers and doomed EUC just because few people cried on forum about playing with friends.
And the fact that you still refuse to lock servers down is very disrespectful to everyone who tries to play on EUC, id say its the same as comming to me on street and spiting in my face.
Please for gods sake lock all servers on EUC. new people can go play on EUW. servers are getting worse with each day. not better.
Or do a announcement that you locking servers in ~3 days so that friends of people can go and create characters if they wish to play in grace time.
AND keep EUC locked till you can develop transfer system.
You clearly saw that a millions of people pre-ordered packs before F2P release and there were million players online at same times.
Why nothing was done to postpone F2P players? at least till you can open more regions.
Did money comming in blind everyone?
You guys need to come out and explain to community every bad decision and how you will improve over time. there is zero trust or respect about this studio and release. and reading the latest update it reads as you guys dont have any plans to fix anything just wait out till people quit out of frustration.
February 20 - Update on Current Top Issues
Is either extremly badly worded or outright is admiting that nothing will be done to fix EUC issues, and that your studio wants to wait till people quit or move losing all progress and all paid content thats worth 100 euros.
We would probably have a lot less congestion if the servers werenāt full of gold selling bots, but actual players. I know this is a non sequitur for any MMO, but to be completely honest, LA is the first F2P where bots might be blocking the actual players from playing. And congrats on the raging success, even though the real dungeon boss for the last few days has been CannotFindConnectionInfo the Great.
Iām not going to insult you personally but this kind of nonchalant attitude that Amazon have is absolutely bafflingā¦
How, as a business, can you not know that when you sell 500K (overpriced) Pre-orders that you will have a similar number of players on launch??? A child could make this comparison.
Youāve basically ignored your biggest community here in the EU and the only excuse you guys can give is āWe didnāt knowā. Iām sorry but your team needs some people with actual game experience and not PR guys, I could have told you in a matter of seconds that with games like League of Legends, Dota, Apex, Fortnite - All 3 times bigger in EU than in NA.
Is there any explanation into why Amazon think their NA playerbase is larger when EU probably has 3 x the amount of consumers? Has anyone who works at Amazon actually left the USA to understand how big the world actually is?
Laxe, not to defend them, but I swear Iāve seen LA getting on the āpopular gamesā list a few days prior the prerelease.
I too (and most of my friends, some even on friday just before maintenence dropped lol) have bought it an hour before prerelease. So it might be possible that the majority of sales came way too late, to do anything about them. (And donāt forget that there are quite a few people who bought a combo of all packs too).
No that wasnāt it. We had queues on the Founders early start too where we were hitting 500k concurrent, they opened up an additional 2 servers knowing that the F2P community was going to come in and they thought 2 servers (20K each) would cover it.
Horribly mis-managed.
I actually wrote prerelease. They opened as many servers as they could on that node. They already explained that. Opening a whole separate region took time though.
This Solutions are a absolute Joke. And hey. They Open Full Server again. So the Fanboy Community can Join on Full Server to his Streamers again so⦠Yeah at this Time 6k queue on Thirain, thanks for nothing. Im Done with it till this is goneā¦
(And no Server switch is no solution, i played since Headstart got 1200 GS, nope, without transfer)
It doesnāt take a genius that you decide to delay F2P release 1 day whilst you spin up EUW. This entire situation could have been avoided.
Completely mis-managed.
That I agree with completely. They could also just keep the servers locked until they would added EUW.
Iām not defending their incompetence. Iām just saying that they couldnāt have predicted this early enough based on the sold copies, since a lot of them were bought just days (and even hours, minutes) before and after the prestart.
Still, they could have handled this in many much better ways.
No dude, they definitely could have, like I said we had 500K concurrent on the head start, we were already queueing before the game ever came out. They would have seen this data across all 3 days of the headstart and still decided to go ahead with the F2P launch.
Youāre not listening to what Iām saying at all.
I said it twice, so I donāt see any reason to repeat myself for the 3rd time again.
I find it very hard to believe that:
Youāre saying they couldnāt possibly predict this, but they didnāt have to predict anything they had all the data they needed from just the opening 3 days to know that their servers werenāt going to be good enough.
What donāt you understand?
Again, people were still buying the prepacks during the 3 days + a lot of them bought them just before the pre started. If they ended up realizing this during that event, it would still take several days to check all the other possibilities to solve the issue and coming to the conclusion that due to the technical limitations the only viable solution for now is to open a whole new region.
At this point, you donāt sign a contract with a valid datacenter provider in a single second. It takes time not only from the administrative side, but also technical, since after everything is completed, they donāt just waive a magical wand to make different servers communicate with each other.
In other words, if the majority of the sales happened at the tail of the 3day prelaunch event and during the event itself, they couldnāt predict soon enough to come up with the appropriate solution.
You guys see the superficial things that happen infront of your eyes, but arenāt aware of all the things that need to be done prior getting to that point. Itās not a matter of minutes or hours. Itās a matter of days and on many occasions weeks and months, depending on the complexity of the issue.
There, you made me repeat myself for the 3rd time. Happy now? ![]()
No you still donāt get it. Day ONE, literally 1. There were queues, the servers died on entry from the mass invasion.
Literally minute 1 of a launch is not tail end of a 3 day head start to me.
