with all the negativity going on here regarding Queue times, i want to thank you with kind words that my (and my guilds) launch experience has been amazing.
Sure the Steam download problem was annoying, but to see it being resolved in 1h was amazing.
Queue times were absolutely okay on our server, for a 500k+ peak early Launch day.
I really have to say it went a lot smoother than i expected! Chapeau!
That being said, i understand the Problems with for Example Zinnervale and Kadan.
BUT to be fair, the server capacity was there… it really is the communities and individuals fault, if they decide to go on a server where there where both mentioned servers hold over 50% of the EU pop… (information from community spreadsheet).
I would kindly ask the community not to blame Amazon Games for your server choice.
I will blame Amazon Games for not including server transfer (or communicating anything regarding if it’s coming or not in a reasonable time) for us that spent €100 on a founder’s pack only to get stuck with it on a 99% Spanish speaking server. People are basically just getting the “sorry, we keep your money, too bad” treatment from support staff. This has ruined a launch I’ve been looking forward to for years. All my motivation to continue this game disappeared within a couple of hours when I realized that I won’t be able to understand ANYTHING written in the chat. Kinda defeats the purpose of playing an MMO where you’re supposed to feel like you’re part of a community.
Apart from that things were pretty smooth, yes. But this has killed all my hype.
Yeah I kinda agree. I mean what company has a predownload that is completely negated by the fact that the game has to unpack when the servers launch which was then just pure luck if it actually worked right away.
Not the end of the world but I am a little disappointed my name was taken because of this.
From the casual perspective yeah, you may say it’s smooth.
But from a competitive side, where people race for firsts and names - it’s an absolute shitshow (even if it’s not directly amazon’s or LA’s fault).
They better fix the joke of a naming region-wide and character-limited naming scheme fast and at MINIMUM give out free name changes before refunds roll in.
i actually specificly made plans for the weekend, and will not play. because i expect it to go very poorly.
so yeah, even if the whole weekend is unplayable, i kinda expect that does not change my oppinion
i don’t think it’s fair to call it an absolute shitshow.
if you compare it to nearly any other MMO launch in the past, Lost Ark really was not that bad
