imagine still shilling for ags after all thoses huge fail
i rly hope ppl like borbarad are paid by amazon or it would be way too sad .
The thing is though mistakes happen all the time everywhere
And the first thing people do when they see a game ban for a game they haven’t played in a year
Is just go straight to anger and outrage mode while frothing at the mouth over something you haven’t played in a year
Instead of using critical thinking for 2 minutes and just putting in a ticket to get it reversed, then doing something if no action was done
People are so fueled by outrage anytime something slightly bad happens so they go straight to being outraged instead of thinking things through
Don’t get me wrong, AGS fucked up, big time
But once they realized their fuck up tried to fix it as soon as they realized (which surprisingly was quicker than I thought, especially on a weekend)
This outrage would be warranted if not only AGS did nothing for like a week, but said “yeah we’re not changing it, deal with it”
Yet people are acting like this ban was there for weeks when in reality it was hours
It just doesn’t help your cause when people really look at it from afar and screams “this looks like prior review boming attempts, including those positive ones”
So you dont play the game and you enjoyed the game when you played it.
You stopped playing the game. You get banned after half a year.
You cant make a bad review of the game. You dont mind the game, you mind the ban.
Think, Think.
Critical thinking ? Hell nah fam, straight down to BAD REVIEW lol
Very annoying right now…
Having some friends that still plays this pay-to-win grindfest with more frustating grind than titties on characters I check every now and then what’s going on. This is what I think about the latest news:
ha
ha
HAHAAHAHAHAHAAHAHAH
Hilarious.
Another mistake added to the growing list of mistakes… let’s see if they admit fault and provide people the compensation for loss of time.
I’d like remind you all that in the latest “celebration” from the developers they pretty much ignored anything related to western players. that’s how much they care I suppose.
No. They didn’t mention anything related to any region other than Kr. It has literally nothing to do with the west as the west is AGS’s responsibility and not theirs… A regional game publisher is the de facto dev of the game for their region. They have all the power of a dev when it comes to decision making for their region, it’s just that in the case of AGS, without a team working on the game, they make decisions and Kr does the work…
Please explain one simple thing. Where should the banned people leave a bad review in your opinion? Black Desert Online? Call of Duty? Counterstrike? New World? Guild Wars 2?
There is no logical alternative to Lost Ark’s Steam. And so that’s where the bad reviews go. No need to reply, you’re welcome. Your time is better spent elsewhere, like on polishing that shiny white knight armor you got from Amazon.
Tha it was Korean centric and should have addressed also to western players has been discussed and confirmed by both Stoopz and Zeals. no real point of discussing here nor defending either party.
It’s Korean centric, there is no discussion. The opinions of 2 players with cameras and cults change nothing. Kr doesn’t need to cater to the west in any way, it’s not their responsibility.
As stated, there is nothing to discuss, point finale. I don’t need to defend anyone, you just need to understand that Kr handles Kr and AGS handles their version.
Go get the definition of Publisher and Developer as well as how outsourcing a product or service work. Both Smilegate and AGS have to actually work in harmony together and is a joint effort, and are both mutually responsible.
Your statements strongly defend Korean way of creating and handling games, which numbers says it is not really working (sadly).
Still suggested that “it would be great if they could sue AGS for it”
I mean you might be annoyed
But you still said it
shrug
Buddy, what you think a publisher does is not what they do. A regional publisher is the de facto dev of their version of the game. Don’t post ignorant opinions where facts are necessary and educate yourself on what a publisher’s responsibilities are from the definitive career site used worldwide.
Saying that Kr should handle their version and AGs handle theirs strongly defends what exactly? Can you elaborate on what I am defending and how? It seems to me that you may be confused.
Hehe AGS was like how do we get them to stop talking bout Artist being delayed/censored. ![]()
Game publishers are typically large companies that use their resources to finance, support, market and distribute video games. The specific duties of the publisher may vary depending on the type of company it is and the relationship it has with external developers.
This is what your link says. It does not include fundamentally code and develop the game. They do not create the upgrading system, nor the mechanics for the raids.
The defense is that Korean should do Korean things and forget about their international audience. When instead they should account that they have (soon had) an active and large playerbase that interact with their product so yes it should be their interest to adapt to newer audience and retain them.
Seems to me that you do not quite grasp the fact that Smilegate has a product that reflects local audience and did not sufficiently adapted the game for external audience.
Reponsibility of Smilegate are the tedious grinding system, punishing mechanics that wype raid, gatekeeping because of not perfect gear, pheons, balance updates, creation of new classes and so on.
Garbage servers, disconnections, bots, community. This is AGS field.
Whenever AGS says “we did X” remember that there is between the lines “because Smilegate approved and allowed us to do so”. This is how outsourcing of services works, in general terms, and for GaaS as well.
You like not to be addressed from Game Creators during their yearly conventions? please keep in mind that then certain frustrating elements will not disappear.
No, you took the overall precept placed at the top of the page to set a foundation for the rest of the information provided and made it your entire point of reference. As such your argument is already invalid as it ignores all the important information following that paragraph, but I’ll indulge you and respond regardless in hopes that you learn something factual to base your opinions on as opposed to conjecture…
This is correct, however the publisher, based on their contract, has rights to make significant changes to their version of the game akin to those of a developer, but limited to those that do not fundamentally change what the game is.
For ex, AGs has modified many things for better or worse, including the NPCs’ races, names, voices and dialogues. They have censored outfits and changed class names as well as removed core aspects of the game such as Yoz’s Jar, Mileage shop and certain currencies. AGs has also changed certain smaller but very important parts of the game such as pet function activation costs and raid chest costs, mount dash speeds and subscription effects & costs. They have also requested and had implemented, nerfs to contents in the game, removing wipe mechanics from some contents and making some easier overall.
These changes modify the game significantly and are akin to those made by a developer without changing the core concepts of the game. A publisher’s ability to regionalize a game is beyond what you seem to believe and I suggest you update your information on this as it will greatly alter your opinions on the subject.
Again, this is not correct. If Smilegate RPG adapts it’s native version of the game to fit it’s international audience, they risk alienating their own initial demographic within their region. This is why publishers are allowed the power and leeway to make changes for their own regions so that the developers do not have to alter their own game, while a version adapted to a new region is provided there by it’s regional publisher. It is not a difficult concept to understand.
While you are not entirely wrong on this front, some of those things can be changed by the publishers upon request to SGR, but it’s important to remember that the core of the game is entirely controlled by the developers and have very rarely changed in any case historically worldwide.
These are part of the core of the game and things that will likely never see any significant alteration as they are formed within the initial concept of the entire game and many systems are designed around them, most of which would cease to function as is if they are altered. Publishers are rarely able to have changes done to these and developers are unlikely to alter them either. This isn’t an argument of who should change them but if they can even be changed at all.
Among others I’ve mentions and left out, that’s correct and directly within AGs’ responsibilities.
This statement is incongruent with the facts. AGs already has certain rights to make changes as provided by their publishing contract. Some cases might have required additional confirmation from Smilegate RPG, but it is certainly not a general requirement for AGs to have the game suit their image of their region.
A VAC ban is worse. If it was just a normal ban off the game then sure, but a VAC ban stays in your steam record and shows up in everyother game. Its like if you used to drink at a bar and then stop going for 6 months and they ban you from the bar alone then you wouldnt even be hurt by it, but instead what they did is they reported you to the police and now you have a record. It shows u p everywhere you go. So yeah. VAC ban is terrible, normal off game ban is w.e
to the original poster, not true as I went back and changed my review to negative because issues aren’t being dealt with, to this very day we keep getting the same line fed to us regarding dc’s of “we’re looking into it” but if it had anything to do with real money it’d be fixed instantly, look at how fast mari’s shop was fixed, something like an hour, but bots and disconnects, nah AGS will keep turning a blind eye because people will just keep playing but at some point it gets to a breaking point and people move on from a game that had so much potential if the mods and devs just listened but there’s that saying you can bring a horse to water but you can’t force it to drink
I mean they deserve the review bomb. I went back and changed my review recently. Games unplayable cause of lag and dc and now graphical stuttering. The Devs dont listen to player feedback. They vac ban thousands of people. And then they ban those people from the forums when they ask why. All the negative reviews are going to cause internal investigation as to why these people keep losing Amazon so much money lol
