I usually only watch cutscenes while playing solo. For group play I skip and watch the cut-scenes in memory chamber. It is just a common courtesy not to hold others hostage for something you can later on enjoy to the fullest at your own pace…
For you.
Not for me, i want to watch it inside, as the Story want me to see it.
Idc, skip and go clear trash while i watch my Cutscene.
People, use the memory chamber… how many times do you think we have seen those cut scenes? If you want to see that cutscene and is not your first time then don’t waste our time I came to do the raid and not see the same cutscene for the 100th time… there is a skip button for a reason and why it doesn’t auto skip once we have 7/8 is beyond me.
Most of us i think talking about the First time.
I always skipping repeating ones.
Yes but doing it party finder is more of a pick and chose kind of thing where matchmaking isnt guaranteed that people will skip and meet players expectations
Like how people ask for roster level and ilvl in party finder
Imo of course i dont say thats how it should be
With all that said i do like matchmaking more and dont mind people not skipping there
You’ll should focus on closing chats ingame as much as you do in the forums. Flagging my posts will do nothing to fix your experience in-game but closing your chat in the raid will.
You will always run into people who do not want to watch them regardless of your viewpoint on the matter in an MMO. Especially because nowadays people do it to troll others and admit to doing so ingame because it " tilts" people.
This is why at some point if it continues they will need to add a measure where the party vote majority win or the rest of the party can continue while they watch the cutscene. It’s like that in other MMO, idk why they have a hostage systemn in LAO for selfish players.
So in actual system don’t use party finder, use match making, most people on party finder title for speed runs. Some cutscenes happens b4 bosses, so you might end dead before you finish your cutscene if you want them to keep playing.
Yet you remain salty enough to come post here
It is not like the Cutscenes are badly done. If you already watched it 20000 times, just go get a glass of water while someone else is watching.
What is with all this aggression. Chill.
In all honesty if I want to watch a cutscene I’ll watch it, likewise if a member of the raid wants to I won’t fuss. Its 30 seconds to 2 minutes of my life and I don’t mind tabbing out and reading something if someone wants to watch it.
If people are truely bothered by it, just move on is my advice and keep playing. If they grief the dungeon just because you watched a cutscene thats on them, not on you.
I usually use Matchmaking, perhaps changing later with argos or harder content, searching for “beginner” or “progress” groups. Idk yet.
But it could be handled like in other games, peoples who skip, can do trash, can even start bossfight, and if you finish the Cinematic you can join them. And i think Cinematics put an invincible buff on you, not 100% sure, so you could even be ported into the Boss Area.
Cinematics are usually not to long, that it would be a problem 3/4 or 7/8 fighting the boss that short time with one person missing.
If you skip 1/4 , and 3 persons like to watch the Cinematic, its your choice to start solo and can get a problem, but i think even that doesnt matter for a short time, only Problems are Wipe Mechanic which need all Players anyway.
Run the dungeon solo if you want to watch cutscenes. I just want my skill point from a stupid T2 dungeon.
@antiphon run the dungeon solo if you want your skillpoint. You join one of MY matchmaking groups and you spam skip, you’re blocked. And believe me, I’ll do it with a smile!
The cut scenes are pretty dope for the most part and the game is designed with insane amounts of monotonous tasks that bring you all over the world to actually see and appreciate the design and artwork of the game.
I like to think of it as designers tootin’ their horns and giving something nice to players.
Now all that aside, anyone can choose to watch cut scenes during content or in memory chamber… everyone enjoys and experiences game differently.
Just like anyone can be upset and call your mother a whore and say they fucked your dad whenever they want… why? Because it’s the internet and you’re in an online game.
Do what you want but complaining on online forums over the way you’re treated in an online video game when you’ve got a mute and block option is gonna get you some mad pushback; hell you’ve even got a report button if you don’t like someone going into explicit detail about the fellatio your mother performed on them 20 minutes ago
You feel disgusted? Turn your chat off or block them and go back to enjoying your free gamewith chad AF cutscenes.
i do not skip any scene even if i have watched it 20 times^^ i like it. they are cool and immesive which is really important in RPGs.
@Smeagohl one thing you should take into account, not everyone has a thick skin.
Not everyone can brush off something that shocking. Especially if it is a first time thing.
The bottom line is that sort of thing shouldnt ever happen. Lets not lessen that. Whether its said over the internet through text, voice channel or in person. It is simply not appropriate.
As someone more experienced dealing with people, not much can get me riled. Ive pretty much heard it all. But a threat to my family is still that, a threat. Even i do not take those things lightly.
The block and report functions have been recommended already, but there is still the fact that people should have more tact and respect/human decency.
Extreme threats should result in a ban. No two ways around it.
yesterday my guild mate did a STORY dungeon in Punika, and because he is doing it for the first time, he did not skip.
group spoiled the story end of the dungeon instantly, and flammed
I agree with you 100% wholeheartedly that in an ideal situation everyone is kind to one another and accepting of others own experiences and situations…
Unfortunately, this is the realistic situation here and whether someone has thick skin or not doesn’t really matter. It is what it is.
The game is free, AGS doesn’t have in person mods in chat available at all times to police what people say, and the chat filter unfortunately allows whore and murder but not “1370 to 1400”
The reality is, the internet is not a nice place and the cost to micromanage language and emotional experiences within a game is far too high, so the function of muting and blocking is enabled.
Everyone is going to experience bad words differently and severity it brings to them, use the tools you’re given and if you think someone has gone too far, then report.
If that doesn’t get handled, open a ticket with the AGS, if that’s not handled then go to Amazon support… if that doesn’t work and you don’t want to mute or block people? Quit the game because the internet and the people in it are going to inevitably ruin your experience or emotional state.
Is that fair? I dunno but it’s the reality of the situation.
You could also just say you skipped it and continue watching it if you’re feelin a bit anxious.
It’s not like the game says who skipped and who didn’t.
Mah homie, dont sweat from the trolls, instead you can always troll them back
