They should add the KR feature that shows who doesn’t skip so we can start to blacklist them from ever joining our groups.

Its an abyss dungeon. You have a week to do it. There is no excuse for that type of behavior. Should we do the same for a first timer?
I understand the want to finish things quickly. And nobody is entitled to any side of the argument.
So we should look at it case by case (what group did he join, was it matchmaking?), to me he said he was a t3 doing a t2 abyssal. In that case, he should watch the cutscenes on his own time. The dungeon has been out for a while, and most people watched the cutscenes early, thats why there are so many complainers now. But that isn’t to say his feelings aren’t valid. Obviously the responders didn’t have to respond the way they did. It’s never okay to say those things.
If the OP wasn’t harrassed, then the argument would be a lot different. Idk, maybe im too much of a devils advocate.

The only cutscenes I don’t mind not skipping are the ones featuring Nineveh

I just can’t imagine any scenario where I would tell someone I would rape their mother and to kill themselves. There’s nothing in this game that would get me to say that to another player seriously. Anyone who says this shit needs some serious help irl, and anyone who condones it over some stupid minute long cutscene needs some serious reflection themselves =/

All the original comments are telling OP he should watch them in the memory chamber and skip the cutscenes. That to me is condoning the behaviour because they are telling the victim to change their actions vs punishing the offenders

Not skipping cutscenes are even considered rude in FF14, THE mmorpg when it comes to story xD
it got so bad that square enix made some cutscenes unskippable in some dungeons where they wanted people to enjoy the story
those dungeons are now instead of like a 20 minute run 1h long runs and no one does them except those who need for the story 
It’s considered rude but if you pull while a person is watching a cutscene you’re almost never gonna be called out. Of course once in a while there may be a Karen trying to virtue signal but it’s a rare occurrence.
The truth is that no one wants to watch cutscenes over and over but everyone is afraid of being called out

the “you can watch it after” is the worst way ever to justify trashtalk people watching cutscene.
It comes from selfish brainless people, not able to understand other way to enjoy game.
There is reason why this is NOT a vote skip but a skip when everyone does. . . The game chose to favor the will of people to watch cutscene “now” than “later”.
About “hostage” … i would have 30 sec, i would cry 1 minute for all hard time you got being “hostage” . . . I would even say that this kind of people is raping you ! let’s get to stupid way to define the situation. you are not hostage, you just get slower, like in classroom when there is an exterior guy speaking of anything and there is always the one with 249783 questions, making it endless… Were not hostage, we learned patience.
I will always support people who prefer to see cutscene in their first run. and report people trashtalking for this. And it is really fun sometime people getting in "SKIP ! " after 4 sec of cs because one or two in the team did not do the “autoskip” option
Also, on the other side, avoid the run with title making it feel like veteran team wanting to rush, will limit those kidn of stupid behaviour.

Well as ive mentioned xD my static have had 1-2 randoms some weeks when we had spots open due to people not being available, its a fast veteran run, know mechs cleared before, t3 people in t2 content type of group on party finder
MOST times we get people who dont skip cutscenes even if these things are the things mentioned in party finder, we will literally vote abandon the dungeon and kick them for not skipping, they shouldnt of joined our group
you know that most of time, the one with 3286 questions was in the top quarter of the student in the class . . . so he don’t fail.
And you hope he won’t be in your class in next year, he or one of those with 23878 question for any topic so yo uwill not lose 30 minutes of answers you don’t care
How is someone watching a cutscene for the first time holding a group hostage? Especially in matchmaking.

Don’t let anyone ever tell you to skip anything, especially if its your first run. And yes i would defend you against idiots who yell “skip” after a second, its toxic behaviour and has no place in the game.
